i figured i'd start off by just examining the language used in the july 15th, 2011 watchtower, page 15-16, paragraphs 4-7.. apostates are like:.

5. false arguments
6. fabricated
7. deceptive
8. twisting
9. their own ideas
10. "do not have our best interests at heart"
11. mentally diseased
12. seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings
13. twisted teachings that contradict His word
Interesting! All I can add is, were they looking at a mirror when they wrote this? Pot, meet kettle...

Appearance: you seldom see them, they don't like sunlight. Adults leaving the nest to start a new one resemble flying ants, as Snowbird said.

i'm absolutely disgusted as what the gb members are letting go on inside the organization with regards to pedophiles, but i guess it shouldn't come as any great surprise after all the other crap they've pulled over the years.. one can only assume that their sheer arrogance and/or stupidity in their "we can't do anything without two witnesses" policy, is a sign that they're either possessed or they're all getting collective alzheimers disease.......it's ridiculous to pretend that child abuse doesn't go on in the congregations - it goes on in every single religious organization on earth, simply because you have imperfect people in every single religious organization on earth.. if child molesters within the congregation were pursued with the same gusto and enthusiasm as those that buy lottery tickets or question doctrines, they'd be doing something.
one can only assume that none of the governing body members have any children (thank god!
) or they'd never come up with such a stupid policy.
SPIRITUALLY WEAK
One thing that woman was not, was spiritually weak. Speaking up in defense of those who cannot protect themselves, while knowing you will suffer consequences for doing so, is the epitome of spiritual strength!

my husbands sister lives across the country from us .
we have had little contact with her over the years .
since leaving the witnesses i have tried to restablish their connections .

It's legal, though less than ethical. I think it's a relative of the old "bait and switch" trick used by car dealers, where the low advertised price that gets you in the door is for the stripped-down model they expect nobody to buy.
Another example: the triple bacon cheeseburger. With that on the menu, you can chow down on a gut-busting double burger and still feel virtuous, because you didn't buy the "big size".

I avoid the bacon grease too, but here's how I make a not too unhealthy corn bread:
1-1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup corn meal
1 cup skim or low-fat milk
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup honey
1 large egg
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt (reduce or omit for low sodium)
Use an 8" or 9" sqaure pan, or a standards dozen-size muffin tin
Bake at 400 degrees 20-25 minutes for pan, 15-20 minutes for muffins
Serve with your favorite chili beans, either con carne or vegetarian...
