Like frat house boys and politicians, most are perfectly nice as individuals. But bring them all together in their organization, and the reverse-synergy sinks them all to the lowest level. It's a fascinating phenomenon, in a morbid sort of way.

If it is a crime, report to police.
If it is a crime of abusing a child or the elderly, the law in most US states requires you to report reasonable suspicion of such acts. Many states make "every person" a mandatory reporter of abuse. And since the WTBTS considers not only elders but also baptized publishers to be ordained ministers, they all are mandatory reporters in virtually every US state.

where your mental image of a place does not match up with where you intellectually know it actually is?

1. great britain: i always picture it to the west of france.

if i'm reading about the norman invasion or d-day i always see it in my head as crossing the channel east-west / west-east.

These days, the word "Activist" is often associated with "end justifies the means" actions. For that reason, I avoid using it when I don't intend to make that implication.

Demanding that God do what you want is not prayer, it is presumption. Prayer is aligning ourselves to His will, not vice versa: "Thy will be done, on earth..."

A serious sarcastic comment: What about disfellowshipped half-siblings? Are they allowed to have half-hearted, part-time, somewhat necessary association with their faithful JW brother-by-another-father?
I am sick and tired of being the main path of communication between two grown children. As the ex un-believing-mate of a JW spouse, father of a faithful JW and step-father of a DF'ed "apostate" JW, both children talk with me--but not to each other. (I never was a JW, so they couldn't DF me!) Nor does their reinstated JW mother speak much with the DF'ed child.
Just another way to split families apart.

Never mind what's printed, the devil is in the details of how the text will be applied and interpreted. That is in the elders' handwritten notes, if they still allow them to take notes.

In this case, they quote the Watchtower and and various books published by WTBTS as if they were accepted scripture. Note well: they call the weekly meeting a Watchtower study rather than a Bible study.
Yes, it is a cult. No, it does no good to tell a Witness that it is a cult. All that does is solidify their resistance to anything else you say, which they might otherwise make some attempt to hear.
