telling jw's your findings about the cult

i'm finding that if you ask a jw a question as though you are completely confused (its got to be "sincere", not aloof), dumb, pondering, unsure, unconfident (that's the biggie), they will listen to what you have to say.

if you ask things with even a *hint* of cocky attitude or a 'let me show you what you don't know' attitute, their minds will shut off instantly.

just speaking from experience.

Although they won't agree with you immediately, at least you know it's in their brains. So when they lie from the platform about the churches of "christendom" and their tithing policies, your jw loved one will have that split moment when they realize the jw's do the exact same thing, even if they don't call it tithing.

Other Religions Compatible to JWs

just wondering, are there any religions that exist that might be palatable to dubs?

i realize all of their teaching goes against this, but i'm wondering from an outside or neutral view, can you think of any that would work for someone who was/is a jw?

As you can see, the Christadelphians have VERY similar beliefs to jws...with the exeption that they make reference to the cross. But do your research. The jw's pull sentences/references out of context. You will find many of the references they give in literature ALSO say it is possible that Christ died on a cross.

Sorry, not trying to make this into a different topic. The jw's say " but where else would you go?"...well, that's one way to look at it. Or you could just see that jw's are not original at all, like they try to force their members to believe.

And if you find faults with the Christadelphians beliefs, what if they change it one day and claim 'new light'? Why can only jw's claim that?

another gem from the same edition - article to be studied december 28 - january 3 (which most will miss lol coz of summer vacation) entitled "what do your prayers say about you?

" page 6 para 19 reads:.

When you say STUDY EDITION...that's the one that's for jw's only, right? They have a Watchtower that's placed with householders as well, right? So do they just leave that sentence out? How does that work?

the years have pass and so has my age, so lately i have been thinking, should i add my daughter in.

since i have seen or talk to her.have not seen my grand-daughter the youngest.

the oldest i saw her over 10yrs ago..i feel my grand kids should know where they came from.. i do not have a lot to leave for my kids, i have four, the other three i have a good relationship...but.

wow...is there any way just to leave some of your money to the grandkids? I agree with finally-free. Speaking from experience, I have a jw parent who never showed any caring towards my non-jw grandparent who just passed away. It's so disrespectful, and now my parent is set for life.

My 2 Cents is: if you leave lots of money/possessions to your jw loved one, they will take it for granted. If you leave no money, but rather a note/letter of how you feel...that will make a much bigger impact. If you leave both, I fear the letter will be tossed and the money will be put in the bank.

it says that the word jehovah was originally in the hebrew scriptures but was taken out.

is this true?

It says that the word Jehovah was originally in the Hebrew Scriptures but was taken out. Is this true? How could I find facts on this?

Also, it says that the name Jesus does not accurately represent the original form of God's Son, yet people are completely okay using that name (Jesus).

Can you argue with me? I'm trying to come up with a good arguement, but I'm having a tough time. Thanks.

Hi. I mentioned this to a jw & they said it only applies to those who haven't already made a dedication to Jehovah. Without trying to sound "apostate-like", I asked why it doesn't mention that in the article? Why don't they mention that to householders, who probably read that mag & think how open minded the witnesses are.

the beginning segment is narrated by former bethel headquarters members randall watters and robert sullivan.. it was recorded in 1990. randall went on to become an exit-counselor shortly thereafter, working mostly with steven hassan.
