Did you use WT dates as well as things found from a secular perspective? If a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from Watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong? Or does the WTBS *make* the dates add up...? Hopefully, I communicated what I'm trying to ask

If theres no God why the earth, the brain the universe? (Atheist and Agnostics)
by cyberjesus in(this question is directed to all the atheist and agnostics in the forum only).
i like most of the people here believed in a god who created us and the earth.
it was easy to explain the reason on many things like the degrees of inclination of the earth, the existance of water in our planet, the existance of an atmosphere, they joy in all the senses, the clear superiority of the human beens versus all other animals, the posesion of a brain who attempts to explain itself.

Christmas & JW objection
by Luo bou to injw's reject christmas because of its pagan origins.
it's not what it meant to people in the distant past that matters but what it means to us living today.
does anyone today visit a person's house see a christmas tree and think oooh he must be a pagan.

September 22, 2003, Awake!, page 24 , 'The Piñata - An Ancient Tradition' :
"We found that for many people in Mexico, the piñata has lost its religious significance and is considered by most to be just harmless fun...A main concern is, not what the practice meant hundreds of years ago, but how it is viewed today in your area. Understandably, opinions may vary from one place to another. Hence, it is wise to avoid turning such matters into big issues." -

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 12-27-09 WT Study (LOVELESS WORLD)
by blondie in--read 1 john 3:16.. comments.
q 18, 19. how should we view any counsel that we receive from a christian friend, and what example did the ephesus.
why not the david example here...david's servants and family had to know.. q 21. what will all of us do at times, but why is it vital that we maintain strong friendships in the congregation?.

I think the way you formatted this thread is a bit different than you have in the past...I really like the way you have it here. It was easier to follow and understand. I'm so glad you do this so that I know exactly what my family is hearing at the meetings. Considering the thought provoking things I've been able to mention to the fam regarding scary evil wordly friends who happen to be some of the most caring and wonderful people EVER, I really hope this lesson will help them think about their own lives. Maybe they'll look at the people they work with and see the contradiction with this article (I happen to know who my family works with and they are ALSO not scary or evil)

Pioneering !
by iknowall558 inquestion :.
why is 'pioneering' a 'privilege' when every jw goes out in ministry anyway.
even those who have lost privileges, or been disciplined, or been reinstated after being disfellowshipped are still expected to go out in the ministry.

you scared me....I thought you'd changed your evil ways to go back . That's funny you mentioned this because I was just talking with somebody yesterday who said this exact thing happened to her. She lost all her priveledges in the hall, but they told her she needed to be out in service. I've never experienced this personally, but can definitely picture it happening

So what are you going to do today? Xmas topix
by AwSnap ini gave my hubby his present around 6a.... we (me & hubby) will be celebrating christmas with a family that used to go to our same kh (the dad was an elder and one of the daughters regularly pioneered for years).
they all left the jw's a little over a year ago.
we were asked to bring some extra chairs, but the only ones i could think of were some old bookstudy chairs stashed at my parents house, which are now in the back of my car.

Awwww, that sounds awesome you guys! We had a really good time last night...spent it with 4 ex-jw adults, 2 ex-jw little children, 2 currently forced jw children (My friends Ex is a bigtime jw who was *not* present at the party but certainly caused a disturbance nevertheless), and 3 folks who were never jw's but were forced to endure a little apostate talk . the food was good. All us ex-jw's have known each other since our actual jw lives, so it was nice to talk about the past and where we are in the present. The wine was REALLY good, since we had a wine importer as one of the hosts, and who was kind enough to give each of the couples 4 bottles of wine to take home.

Organ Transplants...HELP!
by AwSnap ini am doing research on this and have found many, many references.
wasn't there an article from the wtbs that speaks of organ transplanting as 'on of our modern marvels of this time'?
it would be before they changed their minds and called it cannabalism (prior to 1967).
