Does anyone know where I can find the statistics of those who have died from the refusal of organ transplants (not blood transfusions)?...reason being, since the organ doctrine changed, I am trying to show a jw how many people died as a result of *that*

Organ Transplants...HELP!
by AwSnap ini am doing research on this and have found many, many references.
wasn't there an article from the wtbs that speaks of organ transplanting as 'on of our modern marvels of this time'?
it would be before they changed their minds and called it cannabalism (prior to 1967).

Is it too soon to ask about New Years Resolutions?
by AwSnap ini recently heard that if you truly want to get something accomplished in the next year, do not make it your new year's resolution.
90% of people (ok, just made that percentage up, but its close i know) quit their new year's resolutions within six days after january 1st.
wow!.

Well, I have some goals and Resolutions:
1. I've been on a killer eating streak, focusing on what's good and bad for my body. My resolution is to keep up the good work!
2. Drink less booze
3. Keep seeing my therapist
4. Disassociate myself from the Jehovah's Witnesses in front of my immediate family and in-laws. If they take it to the elders, I will have a
DA letter in hand to give them. I cannot keep living a double life. And I will not worry about offending people all the time.
So what's yours?

How do active JW's spend their Christmas? What do they feel?
by dgp inhello to all.
maybe this is a stupid question, since jw's don't celebrate christmas, but, as jw's, how did you spend your christmas?
what did you feel when everyone else was celebrating?

I used to go see a movie every Christmas. I felt guilty that the staff had to work on Christmas, but I was also glad that I had entertainment for the day

Does anyone find it too painful to read the WTS publications?
by dissed inbeen out 13 years and even for research purposes, i find it way too painful to read this wt stuff.. and why?.
all the painful memories it brings back.
don't misread me, it has nothing to do with a guilty conscience.. it has to do with the real pain, the anger of being ripped off and lied too by the wts, the anger of seing how they have protected child molesters, sacrificed its followers by refusing blood transfusions, the treacherous way we and others were treated by the 'unloving brothers'.

Since reading the July 2009 Awake on "Is it Wrong to Change Your Religion" http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/174959/1/No-One-Should-Be-Made-to-Choosee280a6-LIES-from-July-09-Awake ,
I've had a very tough time looking at WT Literature. Of course, before I saw that article, it'd been a few years since I looked at the literature without feeling angry. Now I look at it with sadness and a sickened feeling

Facebook condemned
by straightshooter inmy wife told me that at the last meeting, the elders announced that youngsters going to the skateboarding park were no longer to have any privileges in the congregation.
this is to prevent jw youngs to be rounded up if a drug raid was made at the skateboarding park.. also because of individuals requesting that they be friends on facebook that contain bad pictures, that anyone with a facebook account will automatically have their privileges removed.. sounds like the pharasees protecting the people by adding additional traditions upon them.. .

I'm a facebook fanatic...I don't see anything wrong with shooting her an email via Facebook. I would say something like, "hey ______, I do not plan on contacting you again since I respect your parents wishes. So just this one time only, I want you to know that I've always cared and thought about you. You are such a bright young lady, and you deserve the best. Take care, Niece"
...and also, there is a huge difference with your family forbidding you to contact them, and starting a courtcase or lawsuit or restraining order. I don't know your family, so maybe they would do that. If not, I really think sending an email like the one I paraphrased will be okay

Christmas or Christ's Mass which will you be celebrating?
by eyeslice inneither.. i have no affinity at all to the commercial christmas.
i do, however, think that the religious celebration is not as wicked as the society has made out.
ok, it maybe at the wrong time of the year but it is clear that the birth of christ was something to celebrate at the time and is still worth remembering today.. .

http://www.christmastree.org/debate.cfm I just wanted to point out that Christmas trees are actually very good for the environment, and they can be recycled when you are finished with them

I'm celebrating Xmas, not CHRISTmas. I love the tree decorated, the sweet smell of the pine needles, the cookies baking, family and friends who know the meaning of unconditional love. That's how my first Xmas was about ten years ago. Because of certain circumstances, I've had to skip it various years, but this year its all about love and acceptance (and hoping the elders dont pop by unannounced).
