  Quality of Talks Deteriorating?

  years ago i know talks to be accurate, authoritative, corroborative and encouraging.. however, now that watchtower has change (including new light) tactics applied so extensively, things seem to be worsening instead of getting better.. the 45 minute talk is frequently discouraging and prone to inaccuracy in non-scriptural facts.

  i hate to see the few means of jw secular education is done by careless misinformation.

  it mostly attacks the world and sometimes reflects the overzealous opinions of the speaker; for example, demonizing entertainment and the internet.

  There is a section in the Sept 2010 KM on giving Service meeting talks. It's broken down in the same way as outlined in Blondie's post. They are truly dumbing down everything.

  if we have any people from the phillie area here, anyone remember or presently know any members from the miles family?

  eight kids, the oldest tom was at bethel 20 years ago, and i think it was randy or one of the other bethelites who said he was a first class a** hole.

  the other siblings are denise, val, craig, keith, linda, justin and let's not forget bethel .

  i always wanted to join them when i was a child.

  i had freinds at school who were in and loved hearing the tales of what they got up to.

  Yes, I wanted to be a Girl Scout. I loved the uniforms, cookies, sisterhood, activities...damn dubs and their rules.

  i think a balding man has 2 options- 1. hair club for men 2. shave it.. balding men- not hot; bald- hot; bald with goatee- extremely hot!.

  A shaved head is sooo sexy!!

  A balding head can work on some guys; as long as it's neat, tapered.

  Wigs, scalp dye, spray-on hair, hair plugs, toupees, comb-overs, comb-forwards.....not sexy!!

  maybe because i was in so long, and "studied" so much it just got tiresome.

  maybe because i no longer believe in god i can't be bothered with any of the things i was forced to "learn.

  " having read comments of bona fide atheists, they sometimes seem to know more about the bible than christians.. does anyone else just have a lack of desire to try to understand those more complicated parts of the bible?.

  Yes! Generally, i avoid these types of threads; heard all of the arguments before. Once the mystery behind god and the bible were removed, those topics became less interesting.

  I'll read any thread on the 607 debacle; those are a riot. Celebrated scholars, circular reasoning, witty insults...totally makes my day.
