In love with a JW...
by CuriousUK inapologies if this has been discussed before, or is in the wrong forum, but i could really do with some advice.
two years ago i met the love of my life; someone i regard as my soulmate.
he is an active jw and i am a practising church of england person.

MMVIX said - There was purpose in his actions in having the initial relationship with you and confessing it to get his scriptural divorce. You were his excuse to become free to remarry. That didn't work out and it seems his chances of finding a JW mate are becoming exhausted (his reputation will be rock bottom due to his previous reproof - which will always he a stigma he must carrely y).
Sad but likely true

CuriousUK said - I should also clarify that I am not currently dating this guy. We were together for three weeks, two years ago, before KH intervened and stopped him seeing or contacting me. In the last six months he has started texting me and even made plans to come and see me where I now live in London, which I thought was strange at the time as it would be very much breaking the rules for him.
Because of his status in his cong, it's unlikely that a 'spiritually" JW would want to date him. What is his true motive for contacting you now after all this time? This guy sounds selfish .

I think a lot of older (maybe younger ones) JW's are going to attempt/commit suicide....(READ)
by Joliette ini've been in lurkmode lately, but with the news that i heard about don cornelius dying, it had me thinking...as this world goes on, and people are coping with this world...i think a lot jw's are going to realize that the end of the world isnt coming...there gonna become more despert, the realities of having to work, pay off debts, etc.
a lot of jw's are going to realize that no magical sky daddy is come and 'take away there problems' and i think the more that they start to realize this, they get older, and there gonna start hating the reality that they have to face.
i had a good friend who's father-in- law (who was a ministrial servant) who had bipolar disorder, killed himself in his car back in 2007. it was sad.

Generation - one more time
by johnnyc insorry guys.
i know i have brought this up before (a couple years ago), but my mother and i were talking (she is a ultra-jw) about the wt's generation, and she told me that the wt has never come out and said they took back the generation "timeframe" from 1914. she said they only changed who it was referring to - but nothing has changed on the fact within a generation from 1914 the end has to come.
well, i went back to the 1995 article, and really didnt see where the timeframe was explicitly changed.

COC in public libraries
by diamondiiz ini haven't researched this but do library have copies of this book?
did you ever look for coc or any other book in a local library when you were a believer or when you began to have doubts?
how hard is it to find this book in a public library?.
-
sherah
My county library has non-circulating copy of COC, this is how I initially came in contact with the book. If you're local library has an inter-library loan program, COC and ISOF can be read that way. Many libraries have a strict privacy; I felt safe using the system. I reserved them online, used the self check out and returned them to the book drop.
