"That has not been my experience"
"That never happened in my congregation"
"Those pedophile elders are the exception and not the norm"
definition: a thought-terminating cliche is a commonly used phrase, sometimes passing as folk wisdom, used to quell cognitive dissonance.. here's mine: we don't believe that way ..... we are christians in this home..
"That has not been my experience"
"That never happened in my congregation"
"Those pedophile elders are the exception and not the norm"
are you moving on?.
i see some have a very hard time in life because of their witness past..
Not in ruins but JWism has severly effected my social life. I've made lots of progress in my life since fading away but still struggle with anxiety and uncertaintly.
sometimes i think about stuff i read in watchtower literature and wonder if it would be received differently if it was just like, one guy with a bible, ranting as he paced back and forth amongst the jws.
"it's abundantly clear that jesus selected me to be his channel of communication with mankind.
don't you see the proof?
i know quite a few from both of these schools who basically crashed and burned once they got into their assignments.
graduates of these schools would be thrown into foreign territorities or remote areas without a good visible means of support and would get emotionally, mentally, financially burned out.
post your experiences or of those you know that went to these pitiful excuses for educational institutions..
ALL of the MTS grads that i know are either back in their original congregations or faded away, at least 12.
our friend, oompa, has passed away.
just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

dont think the jw's will think too well of this!.
LOL ShirleyW...my super dub parent listens to his show every morning. I'm going to stir the pot with this info.
did you change the way you dress after leaving the wt?.
Yes, my skirts and dresses got shorter and any opportunity to show cleavage was taken
I concur!
i haven't been on here much lately, but i read barb anderson's report on the court case in california the other day.
nice to see the borg finally getting what they deserve.. anyway, the daily mail has done a story about it and at the end you can give your comments.
i think there are a number of 'faithful witlesses' on there who are giving the "thumbs down" to any negative comments about the borg, including mine.
done
i'd like to hear from those who are currently elders or were formerly elders on your honest feelings about the charges brought against the society and their general policy in handling these matters.
do you think that the society handles child abuse accusations fairly?
or, do you think their policy is abusive?
bumping for more comments
Many non-JW's are probably lurking thanks to our sending out online news links and social media. Great topic.
