I love coffee, the smell and taste. My favs are Dunkin Donuts and WaWa. Starbucks is ok, it's kind of strong and gets cold fast. I loathe McDonald's coffee, tastes like caffeine flavored water.

A problem for a worldly when asking questions about the Watchtower.
by dgp injust for the sake of not being rude or impolite or whatever, i want to state a problem a worldly person has when asking questions or reaching conclusions about the watchtower: perhaps i unknowingly insult or annoy or in a way upset someone who has found himself of herself in that situation.
i just want to know more; i hope i won't offend anyone.. thanks..

Not making plans for the future, as in Nowhere Man?
by dgp ini understand jehovah's witnesses are always told that "the time left is reduced" and armageddon is "just around the corner".
i understand that so many people have put off dental work, or medical assistance of other kinds, because of this.

I know many dubs, my family included, who do not save or plan for a future 'in this system' because the end is near. Some don't contribute to their companies retirement plans. Some rent instead of own their homes, they don't want the responsibility of caring for a home 'in this system'. Many elderly dubs are suffering financially because of decisions they made year ago based on Armaggeddon being so close.
I don't think you will see dubs selling off their belongings like they did under all of the 1975 hoopla but the mentality is still there.

How I obtained my personal files from Bethel
by jwfacts init has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.

in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

Do not circulate recordings or transcripts of talks at the meetings last night.
by life is to short inok i listening in for the meetings and will probably go to the special talk sunday, they are having it this week because of the special assembly day last weekend.. i am doing this for a very good reason but it is driving me crazy listening to this stuff.
i need to vent of else i feel i will go crazy.
it is so stupid.. ok so last night was the question box and it was about recording the public talks.

Start planning now for 2014- the 100th anniversary of 1914
by moshe init's not too soon to start mentioning that to jw's- let them know that 100 years is a long time and even g-d only made the israelites wander in the wilderness for 40 years, before he brought them to the promised land.
let the doubt begin creeping in and let the jw's know they aren't the only ones with doubts.
i will mention 2014 to jw's from now on- it's a date that the wt hopes the jw's will ignore..

Why do even inactive Jw's play the shunning game?

all of these people i have known for 2 decades, most more than that.
in every case, i have not been overly apostate in my statements - just a simple hi, hello, and how ya' doin' type message to them in private.. nearly all of them fall into one of two categories: never been a jw, just studied, maybe attended meetings for a while, likely not doing so nowadays.
