I DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK...!
by iknowall558 ini need some help /advice.......think i'm finally starting to go crazy..... .
within a year...we've come out of org and lost all our friends...... we get shunned by all along with family members .... we have moved house....... and my youngest son ,7yrs, had to be taken out of his school because he couldn't cope with the shunning of me and his dad....... and recently i lost my husband, and my kids have lost their dad....he walked out on us 6weeks ago.. .
my friends....fellow apostates, have been invaluable to me and have been there from the word go.....i love them all so much... but lately, after doing so well and coping admirably considering.........he texted me tonight to say that ....some of my friends "have more than one face and would have me believe they only have my best interests at heart all of the time.

JWs: Dress Like a Nerd. You'll arouse "curiosity" per Oct, 2009 KM
by Open mind inon this week's service meeting there's a q&a for an article about informal witnessing (tm).
the second paragraph recommends dressing modestly at all times so you're ready to witness at a moment's notice.
it even says that your neat & clean appearance may arouse "curiosity".. .

Why else do you think a JC always asks a sistah who has been raped or committed fornication if she wore a thong?
Really? Never heard that one.
I think that they could probably cause more commotion by dressing IMMODESTLY... Especially the sisters. LoL. The brothers... well... that'd just be a little creepy. Hmmm... Double standard...

Computer for outreach - need to be protected - Cyberdefender good?
by guyjeff4850 inso i was wondering, i use my computer for everything (i know, everyone does), but especially for a lot of graphics stuff and for youth outreach.
i've noticed that my system has been running slow lately and it's been crashing a lot.
i had norton & avg loaded on my system, so i never dreamed i would have a virus, but i did.

I'm not familier with CyberDefender, personally, but had a couple questions you might not have thought about it.
Norton is not free. How old is the computer? Its possible your Norton is expired. Its usually pretty good and I've had no issues.
Are you installing/uninstalling a lot of programs? You may need to run a disk defragmentor, as that can cause some of the problems you're mentioning... Are you running Windows? That tends to cause those problems, too. You might also check your temporary files... In Windows they sometimes tend to not be as temporary as they should be, and causes a lot of slow downs.

A new year of school...
Marching in the cool, crisp air (at least once it starts cooling down)...
Hoping that it won't start raining on my clarinet...
Watching the football team lose...
The beautiful scenery around campus...
Birds flying south...

Mammals & Jehovah's Witnesses
by God_Delusion ini remember being told by a few elders that we (humans) are indeed mammals.
but how can jehovah's witness believe that humans are mammals, after all, it's the evolution theory (definition of the word "theory" in this context; "the branch of a science or art consisting of its explanatory statements, accepted principles, and methods of analysis, as opposed to practice") that explained that humans were mammals.. so then, my question is this; how can the wbts (and any other creationist movements that believe that we are mammals) follow the tract of evolution up to a point, but then disregard the rest of it?.

Like TD says, taxonomy groups animals/plants/fungi/protists/bacteria/archeobacteria (yay! i payed attention in bioligy) according to characterists. Taking your logic a step further, JWs wouldn't be able to call an aligator a reptile, or a sparrow a bird.
(Of course, these days, a sparrow is a reptile, which is enough to drive me crazy, but whatever. LoL)

Proof the GB does not really believe the end is comming.....
by Albert Einstein inif you were a leader of a small group that should survive a worldwide disaster and will be left on their own, not being able to use now common services would you:.
a) encourage your members to learn all possible skills and to get all possible today available education, maybe even organized "who will learn what" to cover really every aspect of future life and to be really prepared ..... or.
b) discurage your members from education, letting them just sit home or at meetings and keep repeating: "the end is comming, the end is comming ... be ready, the end is comming...".

Umm... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the demons are supposed to be bound with Satan.
Also, the assumption behind this line of reasoning is that they would live the way we live today... I always imagined a much simpler, more sustainable existance when I was a dub. One that could happen without a lot of edufication. LoL

GG - Yeah, that makes sense. I think the the bureaucracy is stupid, but the individual JWs are for the most part okay, if having difficulties because of the mind control they're under. I had a sheparding call when I stopped going to the meetings... At the time I was very confused, but I remember one elder that was just a hair (about six years, young elder) older than me broke down and cried because he was concerned for me. Unfortunately, I think that type of brother is more the exception than the rule, but for the most part I think/hope their intentions are good.
