At the end of the month, I'd have lots of money left over. I could make that last two if I had to, but it wouldn't be pretty.

My Great-Grandmother Died This Morning
by TheClarinetist inshe's been really bad for quite a while, and passed away in her sleep.
she lived to be a ripe old age, and even got to meet some of her great-great grandchildren (not mine... i don't have any kids), which is not something that can be said for a lot of people.
she loved music, and took organ lessons for many of the last years of her life, something that we really connected on, despite the fact that she was a, for lack of a better word, crazy jw that pioneered for years after she wasn't able to attend meetings in person.. from what i understand, the majority of people people never meet their great-grandparents, and for that i should consider myself lucky, but still i'll miss her.

I'm glad that, before her mind finally went in the last couple of months, I was able to see her, tell her I loved her, and tell her goodbye.
I'll never forget her.

What is "truth" - COULD Einstein Have Been Wrong?

I beg to differ, dear Q (again, peace to you!)... it has NOT been observed in humans... at least not so far as the species derived from an[other] species, genus, phylus, family, or kind. Nor has it been observed outside of a genus/phylus/family... but only with a genus and as to the result of another species... within the same genus. So while I agree that "evolution" does indeed occur, it is to the EXTENT that it occurs that I disagree with.
It has been observed in humans in the form of fossil records and genetic evidence. -

Seriously, what is wrong with US ?!?!!?
by PSacramento inno us as a internet forum but us as a people.. have you noticed how accetable violence is and how it seems unaccetable to view the human form?.
it is perfectly fine for us and our children to see violence during a sporting event, during a movie on primetime even read about "unbelievers" being destroyed by god, but if you see a pair of boobs or a butt a bit to revealing it's like freaking armageden !!!.
the other day a movie was on and there were a could or "risque" scenes that showed perhaps more cleavage than they should have, so it was blurred out, but then they showed a guy losing his head and the bloody neck stub !!!.

The United States culture is extremely sexually repressed as a whole, and we probably won't see that go away for a long, long time. Unfortunately, that repression carries over to the internet, mainly in the form of obscenity laws. Fortunately, however,

after 14 years out i think ive finally found "the truth" reincarnation !
by looloo ini have read many books on reincarnation recently and no longer fear death , or the death of loved ones anymore , there are so many childrens stories of past lifes , children who have no knowledge of reincarnation etc that have come out with things like "mummy you were not my mummy last time i lived were you ?
" a 3 year old child coming out with such a thing is amazing and the reason i started looking into it was because my own 7 year old casually told me that" we have all been here before mummy but we just forget " i asked who told her that and she replied "nobody told me mummy i just know " it all makes sense now and is much more fair than jws "truth " any one else here looked into reincarnation ?.

I've looked but haven't found more than anecdotal evidence. Unfortunately, the stronger claims have mainly been debunked or, like the Dalai Lama, are in the hands of people who have bias because of having so much to gain from it being true. I tend to go by the idea that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and a 7 year talking about past lives is, too me, more likely to be due to subconscious media influence or an active imagination that anything supernatural.

Suggestions for finally talking to my parents about my doubts?

He doesnt do any personal study so he's not so stuck on beliefs that he can see anything else. I'm having a close friend of mines at work order CoC and CCMC for me so I can have them in the flesh. (cant find CCMC in pdf format anyhow)
In that case hide it under porn mags under some other stuff that isn't noticeable. There's always a chance they'll just take and confront you about the porn mags, which is the lesser of two evils.

stillstuckcruz: You should think very carefully before doing anything. However, a couple of points... Do you still live with your parents? I'm not sure, but from your comment about PDFs being seen by your family, I assume that you probably live with them... Or that they're too much of Facebook addicts to get off the computer for a couple hours to visit you. If you do live with them, make sure you have an escape plan. Do you have any worldly relatives you could go live with for a while? Maybe some friends? You don't want them to throw you helpless into the street, which is always a possibility.
On the subject of the computer, I'd suggest grabbing a program called TrueCrypt. It's open source. You can install it on a flash drive, and it allows you to encrypt stuff you don't want peope to see on a fake hard drive that looks like a file. Put all your files on there, but make sure to not lose your password, as it's extremely secure and there is no way to break the encryption (with a strong enough password). As long as you don't leave CoC open, or leave the encrypted "hard drive" mounted, there is realistically no way they can find your files.
