It said I should be Wiccan.
I already am.
i know i have threatened to do this before, like when i first left.
but i am thinking of going to college.
this time, i feel determined.
DO IT.
The only time it's too late to go back to school is after you're dead.
there are millions of reasons for millions of our citizens to expect affordable health insurance from our govt.
a very sad one.... .

He isn't taking care of his mother; he's doing this for his wife. Part of what makes this so sad (for me, anyway) is that this is an 40 year-old man with a family who has to sign up to risk his life in order to save his wife's.
so i was wondering, i use my computer for everything (i know, everyone does), but especially for a lot of graphics stuff and for youth outreach.
i've noticed that my system has been running slow lately and it's been crashing a lot.
i had norton & avg loaded on my system, so i never dreamed i would have a virus, but i did.
I'm not a fan of CyberDefender, just because they charged a friend more than $200 to clean his computer and give him a year's subscription. The package does what it's supposed to, but it's a little too pricey for me.
If you are on a Windows machine: have you checked out Microsoft Security Essentials? It's free and seems to work pretty well.
"the world is full of bibles, which book contains the commandments of god.
why, then, do the people not know which way to go?
because they do not also have the teaching or law of the mother, which is light.
Deputy Dog nailed it. By making themselves the intermediary between the masses and god, they've replaced Jesus altogether. Check out the literature -- Jesus sure doesn't get as much ink as the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
I won't be surprised if they say that Jesus was just the sacrifice needed to create the Watchtower organization.
Big Tex, your post made me cry. You've explained it all so much better than I have ever been able to. Thank you a thousand times over.
thought i'd put this out there to see if you knew of people in the jehovah's witnesses who were falsely accused or mistreated by the " police " or elders in the congregation.
many times it's been by experiencing injustices that get us to get shaken out of our cult thinking mode and reality kicks in and the scales fall from our eyes that the wt society is just a man made organization whose leaders are no better than us - actually in many cases more unscrupulous and conniving than any of us would have ever been to each other !
i was falsely accused 2 times .
A brother who was very good friends a woman I know with left his wife and had nowhere to go. The woman took pity on him let him stay with her until he got back on his feet. He went from a confused man without a home to a physically abusive alcoholic who terrorized the whole house. There was nothing she could do to get him to leave. The elders wouldn't help; somehow, his walking out on his wife and two kids made him untouchable. The elders instead focused on the woman, since she was "living in sin" by "letting" the man stay there. It didn't matter that she was a 5'2, 100-lb woman up against a 6'2, 250-lb man. It didn't matter that he was kicking the crap out of her on an almost regular basis. It didn't matter that every time she locked him out, he'd break a window or door to get back in. It didn't matter that not even the local police department could get that man out of the woman's house. The elders believed that she had let him in, so she was in the wrong until she put him out.
The worst thing about this? To this day, she agrees with the elders. She believes that all the misery she went through was Jehovah punishing her for... something. (Don't ask me what. I still don't get it.) What I can't figure out (and she can't give a decent answer to) is why Jehovah saw fit to punish her two children as well -- they were in the house the whole time and had to witness many things children should never have to see during the period of their mother's "punishment".
when a witness checks this site out, they could think it's a jehovah's witness friendly site.
the fact is this site is for anyone interested in jehovah's witness things, whether they are still witnesses or once were or just want to know about witness life.. what positive ways can we help a witness on this site?.
Maybe we can help them by treating them like any other member of the site and going on with our business. Suggesting material to read, sites to visit, or people to talk to in order to help them get out seems like we're fulfilling the WTBTS description of apostates.
i dont know if this has been talked about before but i've seen it recently mentioned so i thought i'd ask and get the good and bad dirt.. first, who was the nut who thought this up?
8 days????
are you kidding me?
I think I would have left much sooner if I had been subjected to 8 days of that. One weekend was more than enough for me.
i know there was an article on john barr's comments at the annual meeting this year.
i've posted the reference below.
i'm wondering if they are thinking of changing the belief back to that some annointed alive in 1914 will be alive when the tribulation starts?
I have been dying to see how they're going to explain this one away.
