You're right Voyager, had he not fallen for the Society's line about '75, his life story could have been richer. His career stopped after joining the Watchtower. The END happened for many JWs in 1975--they lost careers and meaningful lives!

no one ever let their kids die
by jaffacake inmy soon to be baptised friend has started talking to me since i said i might study with jws.
he tells me some people really believe jws have let their kids die over the blood issue.
i suggested that may have been the case in the past but he says it is all lies.

JWs will say about anything in order to hook someone into a so-called Bible Study. This person might not know a JW child that has died from lack of blood, but as can be seen from the links above, many have died from this crazy Watchtower dogma.

Keep doing this in rememberance of me - How often???
by catchthis inwe all know that the memorial is the single most important day in the jw year.
but why does it have to be observed on one specific day, nisan 14, and at one specific time, at sundown?
did jesus ever make a statement saying that these two requirements had to be kept no matter what?
-
JAVA
I've been debating whether or not to attend the memorial this year with my wife and what excuse to give her if she asks why.
Why not say that you're not interested in watching a group of people watch others pass bread and wine around a room? If one was to "keep doing this" as reported in the Bible, then folks should do more than just pass the stuff around.

Should jws check out the background of a potential employer?
by badboy in.
i understand that some employers give their money to babylon the great?.
therefore should a jw check this out?.

Most JWs are just happy to get a job other than cleaning windows or offices. Going door-to-door could be useful for selling carpet cleaners, but I'm not sure if these companies give money to BTG.

Murderer to relocate to NZ--wife met in JW chatroom
by blondie inposted on thu, mar.
at hearing, a killer's daughters relive horror .
the children of richard greist, who slaughtered family members in '78, say he should not be released to a group home.
-
JAVA
She testified that she met Greist in June on the Internet, in a chat room for Jehovah's Witnesses. She said she traveled from New Zealand to Norristown on Nov. 11 and married Greist on Nov. 29.
Wow -- 18 days is all the time anyone needs to get to know the person you marry. I think that says a lot . . . -

Timing or Karma?
by hillbilly ini guess some things are meant to be.
"it's sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along"....why are we always outta sync with what our heart really wants.
why is it so hard to do the right thing sometimes?.

JAVA
Hill -- Your post sounds a little like a counrty western song. Timing is important, but sometimes it's up to us to adjust where we're at, and where we want to be. Best to you!
