  A history of organization--what are its fruits?

  in an effort to support the belief in an organization as the only way god deals with people, jehovah's witnesses often point to the nation of israel and the christian congregation of the first century.

  surely, jehovah has used organizations in a mighty way.

  perhaps we can start from the very beginning and trace organization's history.

  Elder uses Congregation Bible Study as an opportunity to ban the movie Avatar

  last night, during the congregation bible study, the conductor (overseer?

  ) used this as a platform to say that the movie avatar is of satan and no christians should see it.. .

  he said that he googled the (original) meaning of the word avatar and it was of hindu religious origin.

  This was used in a talk on Sunday at our hall by a visiting speaker, he said Avatar is similar to the Nephilim, even my dad who's an elder, said that was a load of crap.

  bielefeld, germany - a german pensioner charged with the attempted murder of 81 jehovahs witnesses by storming into their community hall and trying to open fire with a machine gun has denied all the charges, a court heard on tuesday.

  the 83-year-old, who cannot be named, allegedly stormed into the meeting in the town of bielefeld and attempted to fire a machine gun at the group in july 2009 - but the weapon malfunctioned and the man was wrestled to the ground.. a psychiatrist for the defendant told the court that the accused had merely wanted to point out that islamists could be a danger to jehovahs witnesses.. the prosecution said he had tried to "maliciously shoot" as many as possible of the congregation.. the accused man has not yet addressed the court in person.. the psychiatrist said the pensioner told him that his dog had found the gun in the forest.

  the fact that the gun didnt work all of a sudden is reason enough for Witnesses to believe they have the truth because Jehovah saved them. I can hear them now: "if this was the Catholic Church we would be reading about this in the headlines, but instead Jehovah decided to spare his people"

  Time To Vent Part 2: So I've Been Studying With My Wife...

  ...for the past month or so, and i've been showing my wife little by little why i am no longer "living" as a witness.

  so far...she has been very receptive, understanding my points, and hasnt been giving me any trouble.

  i think she's really getting it, but then today comes.... she says "i see all the flaws of this religion and i respect your feelings, but this is the best way that i want to worship".
