I'd make sure I'd dress appropriate for the occasion. I'm thinking, long, jean skirt with a slit up the side, white t-shirt, and sneakers. And then, brazenly flirt with all the brothers. On that note,I've never been on a Bethel tour and doubt I ever will. I think that's something for being raised a Witness and now in my late 30's.

Have you ever used the C-word in front of an Elder?
by Think About It inhave you ever refered to the jw's as a cult in front of an elder?
what was their reaction?.

Sort of, in front of my brother who is an elder. I said, you would think we're in a cult or something with all the secretive information. This was even before I thought it was a cult. It's a long story. But, I get sick of the information control. That certain information is only for a select few to know, before they let the rest of us in on the big secret, that wasn't really a secret or a big deal after all.

What was your initial reaction to finding out the religion is a cult?
by make yourself inmine was filled with shock and anger but mostly anger.
it made me feel that way because i have never been lied to like that growing up in the religion with it being all you know.

by bobld ini know it's has been mentioned before but my 2$ worth.iam sure if they (j.w.

"also over 90% would agree and would not bat and eye.. knowing that the wbts published this (garbage) song book over 90% agree what a great song book.talk of brainwashed people.i can't stand the music, it sounds like some kindergarden kid is taking piano lessons.did they not rehearse.it is awful the the dough heads won't admit it.i say they will do a re-issue,revision 2 next year.. bob.

It is awful. My mother told me she was going to order the music, but that she changed her mind. She's a zealous Witness, but she can't stand the new song book. All the songs sound alike.

Judical Committee- FUBAR decisions
by Think About It ini had posted this as part of another thread, but thought it might make a good separate thread.
here's a jc fubar decision that i experienced.. i dealt with a brother who threatened to kill his family, my family, and then himself.
this guys' secret sins were becoming manifest and as an elder some things came to my attention, including wife abuse and according to her, allegations of possible misconduct with the young daughter.

This sounds like my brother's old hall. The congregation was finally dissolved. My brother was an elder, but then, became inactive. Of course, it wasn't as extreme in your case, but close. I can understand why you left.

Faders are indeed a very large doormat
by moshe insorry, to be so blunt- for a whole day i have watched people here patting themselves on the back- we're a large army, oohh, look out wt, we might do something, well not today or tomorrow, but someday!
maybe, i have to just accept that a lot of jw's who are exiting the kh by the back door will never find a backbone to stand up to mummy and elder daddy.. jw's have a learned ability to see themselves in a better light than everyone else sees them.
ask a jw, if they are a charitable religion and they would likely all say they are, but when pressed to name a charity they will be unable to do so.

I am just not interested in causing a stir. I just don't care. I just want to live my life, and I don't care what others do. Maybe, I am just lazy but I can't be bothered. And I am still figuring it all out. If I'm ever going to protest anything,it will be something I truly care about, like the environment, or to end dog fighting. And I'm a quiet person, so I want my exit to be quiet. If that makes any sense.

Just had JW come to the door to invite me to memorial
by tec inthis is the first time that i ever refused to go the memorial.
usually i make excuses or fall back on the 'maybe'.
in fact, i have never stated an opinion that differs with anything that a jw at my door says.

Yes, we've been told to leave it in the door if no one answers.

A bit of irony
by EmptyInside inhi all, the first time i posted on here i was really depressed about being single in my late thirties.
well, it's kind of ironic that i don't care about that as much anymore.
and, especially since i'm dealing with more important personal issues, which is examining the faith i was raised in, jw's of course.

Hi All, the first time I posted on here I was really depressed about being single in my late thirties. Well, it's kind of ironic that I don't care about that as much anymore. And, especially since I'm dealing with more important personal issues, which is examining the faith I was raised in, JW's of course. But, now, it seems I've been noticed, the poor brother got some really bad timing. How ironic is that?
