In my experience, there are a lot of good women in the org. who get overlooked as marriage material, because they aren't pioneers, aren't pretty or thin enough, or don't come from a prominent family. But, I'll let daringhart go on this one, because it sounds like he had some bad experiences.
And it goes both ways, as I got older, it suprised me how many married brothers liked to flirt with the single sisters. I'm not saying most wanted to take it any further, but as we know this happens a lot.

This is what started the desire to fade for me. A lot of the sisters are waiting for the new system for their opportunity to marry and have children. But, when one reaches a point in their life and realize all the sacrifices were for nothing. And you just wasted time and a lot of lost opportunities. It's just sad and I can't do it anymore. I'm 37 now, and I don't plan on continuing waiting to start the life I always wanted.

i don't get it.. they're wrong about almost everything they say.
they flip-flop on dates, chronology, prophecy, bible understandings.........
Years ago it was explained to me that all the other religions still held their centuries old traditions of men and false teachings. But, we were God's people who were humble enough to accept changes when we know we were wrong. And as far as wrong dates go, it's because we "keep on the watch", but still better than other religions because we take note of the time that we're living in.

Thank you all for your advice and support. It helps that others understand. I just need to take each day at a time. It's good that summer is approaching, because I can go away for weeks at a time, just like a lot of the elders do.
Sorry, I submitted this thread before it was ready. Well, it's not so easy when the blinders are finally off. It is so hard to sit through a meeting without rolling my eyes. I've developed nervous twitches too and just feel sick to my stomach all the time. And trying to go out in service, I can't. And now a relative keeps saying, "I'm worried about you." And now with the generation overlap, which is insulting to anyone's intelligence, it's hard to go on. I don't want to cause any pain to my elderly mother. And I certainly don't want to meet with the elders. It's just really getting to me. Thanks for reading, I needed to vent.

This post made me angry at your mother-in-law, and her husband. I work with an animal shelter and am sensitive about those things. But, it's kitten season. As for your cat and the kitten,it just takes time.

I'll admit it, I like Coldplay and even went to a Coldplay concert. I'm part of a coven now. Anyway, I read an interview with Chris Martin and he had a strict religious upbringing. It "evidently" explains why there is a lot of religious references in their music.
