Time to get a new job?
by White Dove inyou know it's time to get a new job when.... your boss gushes about how much she and everyone appreciates all your hard work and support but doesn't train you with new skills, and it's been over a year since you started.. no new skills, no raise, no promotion, just empty promises of yes!
sometime in the future.
there oughta be a category for occupations..

I feel bad because I found out my brother had to take on a second job yet again. He has struggled to support his family his whole life. I know a lot of people are in the same situation nowadays. But,things, hardly ever seem to go his way.
His wife is a hard worker too,but was recently injured on the job and it appears won't be getting any settlement. And she can barely get around. It's just sad. And I'm in no position to help them out.

Is it a national topic or a local needs for your hall? If it is a national topic for the service meeting, then it must be a huge problem.

by Maze inmy interest in posting here has deadened lately.
this will likely be my last thread.
initially i participated here because i was interested in sharpening my perception against opposing points of view.

i found the woman of my dreams!
by varian inlast weekend i had a date.
i immidaiately fell in love.
we met the following day again, and arranged another date for tomorrow.. well, yesterday she sent me a text message, stating that she no longer has an interest in seeing me again, because she discovered other pics of myself on other dating web sites.

She might believe you're serious if you delete your account on those other dating sites. You can always join up again if it doesn't work out.
And I hope it works out for you,but slow down, and take it easy. No need to rush things, just enjoy getting to know one another.

My dad wont make it too much longer, advise/experiences needed
by Coffee House Girl inhello all at jwn,.
so my mom called to tell me that my dad wont be able to come back home, he has been on kidney dialysis (along with having congestive heart failure and diabetes and dimentia...) but now he is breaking down and will have to be admitted to a hospice center for the remainder of his time left (without dialysis wont be two weeks).
most of you know my situation, faded (not dfd or dad) but most of my family treats me like i am disfellowshipped except my mom and she keeps getting warnings from elders to cut off dealings with me- my dad is inactive but as head of the household he demands that i be able to visit and take care of mom and dad (so my mom must be submissive to his wishes).

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I lost my father a year ago to dementia.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but adding the rudeness of the rest of your family,it's an awful situation. I always thought in situations like this, that all the religion's rules were put aside, and everyone should be treated with kindness. This is a crises situation for heaven's sake.
I'm sorry,I have no advice. I only hope that your family can come together at this difficult time, especially for the sake of your dad.

Wish I Would Have Left Earlier
by EmptyInside ini know everyone's situation is different.
and no matter what age one is when they finally say enough of the religion,it's difficult.. but, from what i have observed among my friends,it appears that those who left in their teens/early 20's fare a bit better.. my two close friends who were disfellowshipped in their teens/early twenties, seemed to do fairly well with the transition.
of course,i know they went through a great deal of pain to get where they are today.

Hi Fortis, you're right,it's best to celebrate life now and make the most of the time we have left. Thank you for that.
