i think it is best ignored - just go on with life as usual - it could be a spur of the moment thing - not really meant....but if it is, and you want to make the marriage work, you will have to honestly and calmy discuss the situation and your position - and really perhaps some couples counseling would be of use. best luck....sounds like you are in a pretty difficult situation....:)

My wife just told me to move out...
by nolongerconfused inbecause of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.
she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

Notes from "Safeguard Your Conscience" Special Assembly Day
by WinstonSmith inrecently we had the 'privilege' of attending our local special assembly day.
the theme for this year was safeguard your conscience, and you guessed it, they looked up every reference to the word 'conscience' in the bible and then wrote a talk about each one.
it was most definitely a case of "pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip.".

first of all winston - amazing that you sat through all that. the basic premise is "you're a miserable failure and you'd better shape up or else". they really go all out to determinedly kill all possibility of free thought. they want to control gut feelings, core values, etc. and hypocrites - they use someone getting a personal trainer for 1:1 - can you just hear the rhetoric if a lowly pub did that?!?! bad associations, putting your bodily training above kingdom interests, etc........so if the illustration doesn't fit the audience..........
The husband to be taking the "lead" in the planning really is a killer. most guys can't even come up with their preferred guest list or figure out where they want the reception - much less be bothered with sillly details about what to wear, what the food is going to be, even how big or small. that part is truly straight out of la-la land.
truly gaggable

omg - this reminds me of a situation many years back - and seriously i should have remembered this one for the whackiest comment thread. elder of questionable virtue has wife that dies.....early 60's, sudden event. he was somewhere between 65 and 70. his sons and daughters really were not into the idea of dad having to be their responsibility for care as he aged, so one of them set him up with a late-twenties divorcee. Literally within months of the first wife's demise, there was a short engagement and marriage. His reflection, which I heard with my own ears.... "if your old dog dies, what do you do? you got get yourself a brand new puppy." why that girl married him is beyond me, but apparently she was in a desperate state. another widowed elder i know of married a woman 20 years younger.....but she was in her 60's and you do the math, so that one wasn't quite so nauseating.

some of these are priceless as in pricelessly STOOPID! the one about us all being naked in the new system i have heard from many sources - also all vegetarian....no cars...i do remember one sis speculating that we'd be able to change partners and have sex with different people - don't know where she dreamed that one up.......
but the judge's 'who'd want to get stuck with a stack of bones and a hank of hair' was indeed a classic.......
