But really...isn't it in Isaiah that all the gold and all the silver belongs to God? So why would he want or need human $$ which is basically a means of exchange? And why is it that it is said God is a spirit and you must worship in spirit and truth? No mention of your bank account. Further...what about the worlds destitute population? They must really be doomed. If it takes $$$ those promoted to paradise will have to be exclusively from the well-heeled .....

If anyone ever makes the claim that they don't focus on Money ALL the time...
by HiddenPimo ini saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.
we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.

Unique JW Phrases 101
by Solzhenitsyn inwhat unique to jws phrases do you remember?
something fun for those of us taught to speak an entirely unique and pure language.
there have been posts in the past in this forum but perhaps some have new ones after having kept up with jehovah's chariot as the light gets brighter.

As a JW Did You Prefer a “Stricter” Congregation or a More Liberal One?
by minimus inin my experience, there were three types of witnesses.
some were barely witnesses while others were extremely conservative types who followed the letter of the law.
and then you had those in the middle who just went with the flow.. i knew many witnesses who “felt safe” being in a stricter environment.they were actually proud that they belonged to such and such congregation because it was filled with strict bethelites..

I grew up in a congregation where my father was a servant, overseer, then elder when they adopted that title....he and a fellow elder prided themselves in their terms on "running a tight ship"....The next cong over had a reputation for being loose. How many times I heard it said "I'd be out of the truth if I were in that congregation".
I eventually landed in that cong and the atmosphere was much happier and friendlier....there was actually a good camarderie....unlike the cong populated mainly by mentally deficient gossips....

Another Doctrinal Flip-Flop As Of Oct 2019 - RE: Locusts In Joel 2
by pale.emperor init's seems that even the revised edition of the book revelation: it's grand climax a hand was wrong again.. in the 2019 agm david splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in joel 2".
clarified?
you mean he done a 180 reversal.. from revelation: it's grand climax a hand page 143, para.

You gotta admit...those revelation explanations applied to a handful of obscure religionists from the WW1 era were pretty bizarre..... Back in the day I never could wrap my head around some of those applications presented in that wild revelation book....

I Wonder if Tight Pants Tony Helped to Write this on Sobriety in between sips of malt
by Slidin Fast infrom the official agm report: are you completely sober?.
brother geoffrey jackson made practical application of texts in the christian greek scriptures that use a term that literally means “sober.” he also stressed the importance of continuing to ‘keep our senses completely’ (literally “being sober perfectly”) during these last days.—1 peter 1:13.. .

That guy looks so nuts.....just looking at him I can't imagine taking him seriously.
I came from a cong that had a lot of (recovered) alcoholics and they were ridiculous about those who drank....some including a particularly obnoxious elder would go around sniffing breath and accusing their targets with the I smell ALKahall... Some wouldn't accept an invitation into the home of those who were normal about booze because they might see a wine rack or something. It was beyond ridiculous. So...any talk with the word sober I am sure will kick off some fanatics in the group.....whatever...

November 2019 Watchtower (Would love to hear the comments in the hall)
by pleaseresearch infrom the november 2019 watchtower study edition.. how many of you would like to know what the brothers and sisters would respond to this question.
also, if you went into a hall how would you like to respond to the question.. 8. how should we respond to lies?.
8 satan, “the father of the lie,” uses those under his control to spread lies about jehovah and about our brothers and sisters.

Funny how all those pedophile cases have ended up in courts of law ....being nothing but lies and fallacies. The judicial system must really be off...awarding settlements to alleged victims. And that whole Australian inquiry and all the testimony...wow. That was all untrue? Perhaps it never even happened!!!
None so blind as he who will not see.....

Oh boy...hah...I remember that assist program. And I remember that it was highly insulting as there were some pretty dumb and inept real work dodgers who fashioned themselves "pioneers".....they were the ones needing sprucing up.
In my immature and illadvised youth I was on the Pioneer list for 9 months...I quit as they were about to kick me off for not having the requisite 7 bible studies and showing my knees....but in those months I was treated like royalty...all for having that title and wasting precious hours of life. Jesus said all of you are brothers...peers...equals in other words. So their setting people apart and above is decidedly not following Jesus pattern.

why do jws hate pagans?
by nowawake14 inpaganism from my view is just a mental fantasy.
it's not real.
so why do jws get mad at it anyway?

It is just a word with a negative connotation they love to toss around...anyone or anything not them is pagan. It reinforces their notion that they alone are loved and blessed by God.

Where are the funds going to come from? Warwick Expansion
by HiddenPimo inso with the news that they are remodeling patterson and expanding warwick, where are the funds going to come from?.
could this be a ruse like the need for thousands of kingdom halls proclaimed a few years back only to be replaced with the we realized the halls were not at capacity and the great sell-off began?.
maybe the hope is going to be that the sheep will give give give and then all of the sudden, after prayerful consideration the gb have determined that the current resources are sufficient to create the needed media and content.. my bet is that in 10 years it will all be consolidated to warwick and walkill and patterson will be sold to who i have no idea, but they own a ton of property in upstate ny..

It's just a money grubbing corporation operating behind a sham religion. And the real owners are damn cagey and keep their assets very well secured. I don't believe it began this way actually...I think Russell was just a very imaginative decent type...Rutherford a boisterous boozing shiester...then Knorr came along and the religious aspect remained primary...somewhere along the line though the cult gradually turned into a front. Just my ideas.....how, when, who...the thing is now the entity is run by a totally unscrupulous unethical bunch and this to the detriment of those persuaded by its "biblical" pronouncements.
