Do not go to collage this past Sunday at the special assembly day!
by life is to short inat the special assembly day they interviewed a elder who came into the truth in the early 50's he had just signed up for collage and was starting his life at the age of 18 or 19 then he learned the truth.
a elder came to him and asked why he wanted to go to collage when the system's end was so close.

FASCINATING debate: do we actually know what JESUS taught at all??
by Terry inthis debate is quite thrilling.. .
start at three minutes and forty two seconds where bart ehrman begins speaking.
then, if you find this compelling, go back and watch all the debate.. .

Mindmelda: Do you have to believe on those beliefs to actually do them? Why do we need a Christ or a God to do love one another? Why dont you become your own messiah and create your own set of rules and guidelines that will lead to a better world?
If we need to believe in something then we can become our own Gods with our own version and do good. :-)

Why group fanatic muslims and christians? They all need faith to believe and act according to their beliefs.
Thanks for the Videos. They are awesome. When I first came to this forum I was still a Christian and was looking for the "truth" or the right religion. I avoided any atheist topic, but it was that search for truth that helped me loose my faith. No I am proud of my non-faith.
Its hard to accept what our brains conclude when it stands against what we want to believe. But its good to be wrong and know that you are than assuming you are right just based on beliefs with no foundation other than tradition and faith.

What is the relationship between self censorship and fear of ostracism?
by cyberjesus inmy girlfriend is doing research on how we as humans tend to self-sensor our thoughts and opinions(specialy in a polarized opinion climate, i.e., post 9/11, cults and religions) when we belong to a group and our tendency to conform to the group out of fear of ostracism... does it sound familiar?
yes that happens to any member of any cult who goes or attempts to go against the accepted norm by the group.... we are social beens, if not censoring threatens our social relationships we censor ourselves out of fear of being ostracized.
so what are your opinions on the following:.

Is the love bombing the lure, and social conformism the hook for the brainwashing?

My girlfriend is doing research on how we as humans tend to self-sensor our thoughts and opinions(specialy in a polarized opinion climate, i.e., post 9/11, cults and religions) when we belong to a group and our tendency to conform to the group out of fear of ostracism... does it sound familiar? yes that happens to any member of any cult who goes or attempts to go against the accepted norm by the group...
We are social beens, if not censoring threatens our social relationships we censor ourselves out of fear of being ostracized.
So what are your opinions on the following:
1) Our social need to conform
2) Our social need for belonging
3) The Durkheimian concept on moral punishment
4) Why do we control ourselves when we are the dissenter in the group?
Please cite your scholarly sources that back up your position on these issues if you have any.

Do you think you are forever damaged by the Watchtower??
by noni1974 ini've been out since 1998 so i've had time to learn how to be normal.
i've had time to get over the pain and hurt of shunning by those who claimed to love me.

Yes we will have that mark and the reminder of who we were, and the fact that who we are is the result of that. But it is what it is. Some of us left earlier than others but we all left. We are free to decide to an extent. We will always be limited to some extent if we still have family in. But it is what it is.
Noni: Your post gives me courage. You have influenced me today, thank you.

Well, I guess its day by day... Last week I had one of my worst days and yesterday one of my best. I have in in anti-depressants for 2 weeks already and besides some side effects I didnt feel any real effects. However yesterday I was able to take actions, to actually do things. To ignore the problems and see them as just obstacles that only needed attention but that they werent that bad. :-) I dont know if the meds are working or not but maybe they are (i am always very skeptical)
I decided to give up on my idea of becoming an undercover spy and get back in and fade out... I cant be dishonest with my family nor myself. I for once have decided since I am out of the MATRIX to be honest with me and with the world. So they are gonna know where I stand, and is either like me or not. But I still care for them and will love all my family. I am ok. They are sick and their vision is blurred. I can show them who has real love for them. I ve noticed that since now I started to reach in a very loving manner they get confused because although they treat me with disdain I still show them interest and love. haha their reactions and faces are interesting... I think after all that guy Jesus was right.. Love never fails :-)
I just wanted to keep you updated! Today is a beautiful day and we can enjoy it without the JW-doom-glasses
