Does Hispanic mean Mestizo?

with all the hoopla going on in arizona, i have been hearing a lot of comments about the state of arizona being racists against "hispanics".

i always thoght hispanic meant someone whose promary language was spanish or in some cases portugese.

has the word hispanic come to mean only mestizo's (people of mixed european and amerindian ancestry)?.

To answer the question, no Hispanic doesn't mean mestizo. Only refers according to the census to people who speak spanish. There are Hispanics who are indian-indian or white-white. If a mestizo is someone who is a mix of amerindian and european, then by a lot of people in the US that look white (european) are mestizos :-)

The elders had a meeting with me suggesting that since I had attended meetings over a year I could submit my reinstatement letter. (I had been DF for 14 years) I said yes but I told them that I had some questions that I needed to get answered before I became a JW again. They told me that they would answer those questions when I was reinstated since they couldnt talk about spiritual matters with me. :-) I laughed and told them that if I got reinstated at the moment I asked my questions they would DF me again. In the United States the term Hispanic is usually used for people whose descent is from a Spanish speaking country. Philippines, Haiti and Brazil are not Spanish speaking countries.

Racism in the US is usually targeted towards people who do not look of an European-white descent. Sometimes "white looking mexicans" do not experience racism until either they speak english with a mexican accent or people find out they are from the south of the border.

Terry you are wrong! Naming the animals was very important. Just imagine Eve saying "Adam can we do it now 'bark, bark" style? is just too long and what if Adam got the wrong idea and started to pin Eva against the trees, that would have been painful.

"STUPID HUMANS", Bad Adam, Bad Eve. They just didn't get it. All that animal naming training and they have to freaking eat of the "knowledge tree", WTF dont they Know is bad? I told them. "STUPID HUMANS" why didnt they eat of the "Life tree" instead? Didnt they know it would give them eternal life.

Oh no, wait a second, they were gonna live forever anyway so they didnt need to eat from the "life" tree anyway.

Stupid humans they dont get it still after all this years. They are still confused. Even though I sent the Bible, they destroyed it and only kept copies of the copies in little pieces scattered all over. They are just freaking Stupid and Sinful, All you can go to hell. What ever they think it is. there is no need to explain cuz they just wont get it. They are gonna believe what the want to believe.

I think you photoshoped the pictures and modified all the references to 607 bce because you are an expert apostate/graphic-designer controlled by Satan(tm)!

Unless this information comes from the GB I can not believe it is true. Besides Satan is controlling the world so he controls the press, the libraries are federal buildings so they are controlled by Satan too. And the Internet invented by Al Gore=Vice-President=Satan.

drew sagan in a recent post (he recently graduated college) said this, something that i agree with and frankly, think about often.

to those of you who feel that you need to "help others" in the watchtower i give you this word of caution.

be careful, because that may simply be an excuse you are using to remain stuck in the past.

The moment we dont see you here it means that you have finally have moved on. It would be a great loss for us and for the people who are just leaving since we all benefit from the posts of former bethelites, elders, cos or missionaries.

But it will be a great victory for you and your mental. health. Whenever you are ready to leave us you must know that many here are thankful to you and many others who have given their time to share their experiences.
