June 2010 Awake! more duplicity.....
by Hobo Ken ini was up in my mum's house the other night (she and my father are still active jws) and saw the june 2010 awake!.
as i browsed through it i came to watching the world.
as i read the article on the "baby mammoth" i noticed that there seemed to be some important information missing, as well as some good old watchtower selective quoting.. bear in mind that devout witnesses would never question the organisation or suspect that an article could be misleading them far less go and research the information to check it's authenticity.. the article mentions the age of the animal at time of death (3 to 4 months) and the fact that it was well preservedin the ice and that it's airways and digestive systems were clogged with silt.. right at the end of the article they say that the "scientists were lead to believe" the animal "must have drowned".

Finish the job the Jehovah's Witnesses started on you!
by Terry inwhat jehovah's witnesses get right is that the basis for christianity rests on scripture and the bible itself.. but, they only go just so far.
they stop at making you suspicious of bad things which have crept in to the bible through centuries of corruption.. the jw's unpack and deconstruct christianity j-u-s-t e-n-o-u-g-h for you to see the rats and spiders and cockroaches.
they quickly squeeze it all back together again repackaged.

I did. It wasn't easy. I wanted the idea of a paradise on earth and living forever. Well at least I thought I did. Researching the bible was a scary thing to do because It meant opening a can of worms.
But I just didnt wanted to be lied to anymore by anyone. When my mind left the Cult I was still a believer of the bible. And I must admit I was afraid of the atheists in this forum or the web. I couldnt understand why they went to the other extreme. But I knew they were intelligent. They had to be searching for knowledge and the search for knowledge was more important than the comfortability of faith.
I think most Ex-cult members that turn to another religion do so because their love for what the knew is so strong that fear the unknown.
To be comfortable with the unknown is the beauty of being a knowledge seeker.

Worldwide religion SHAKEDOWN.......no scriptures...WHY it's coming NOW..
by EndofMysteries inif you do 'or' do not believe in the bible, this is exciting to know!.
first a quick overview of the history of the bible we have today (did not include everything only some key points), which is a real eye opener when we get to today, 2010.. (you'll also see many similarities of the gb and wt to the clergy who persecuted those trying to get the bible in english)....... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
the dead sea scrolls date about date between 150 bce and 70 ce.

LOVE your ENEMIES: where Jesus goes wrong
by Terry inmatthew 5:44 "but i say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,.
luke 6:35 "but love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return.
the most radical teaching attributed to jesus has implications if followed.. an invading hoarde of mongols would not be resisted.. a christian husband would not only allow his wife and daughters to be raped; he would be compelled to forgive the rapist, pray for him and offer.

How did you find the strength to leave?
by SAHARA into all of you exjws, i'm sure you've been asked this question one way or the other many times and i'm sure the answer is different for many of you, i'd like to know directly from you never having a chance to hear or read many exjw's answers to this.
knowing that you would be cut off from your family and friends and other consequences for your decision to leave, how did you ever get the strength to do it?
i mean really, i find it fascinating to know that there are so many of you who were at one time very devout, if not at the very least loyal to one of the most successful mind-contol organizations ever who believed all if not most of what the society taught and still you found the courage to risk everything once you accepted that it isn't what it claims to be.

Are you SEEKING the TRUTH of the bible unaided?
by EndofMysteries inhey,.
i'm hoping some on here, maybe realizing that what the bible really teaches, no church or religion has it.
your learning and working hard to uncover it's true message.

why (unless the translation is wrong and need a better one), would some scriptures and books in the bible, inspired by that God, also accuse/expose him too?
What if it wasnt inspired by God? Have you considered that? Did you read Terry's post or just skipped it? THERE ARE NO ORIGINALS. ZERO! have you researched that? is just fluff based on hearsay of which we dont have full record either.
If you are sincere in your research, extend your sincerity researching the bible itself.
