  im new to this forum, i dont know where else to post my story, sorry if im wrong for posting this on this subject.

  as i begin to wake up from being in the org i thought id introduce myself to this forum with how i was raised in the org..., ive been beginning to look at everyones stories from being raised as one and how they left, and i find comfort in knowing im not alone, so maybe another young person like me will find the same comfort reading my story.

  as you can tell by my username, i am posting this on an anonymous account because of fear of what the elders would do to me and my parents if they found out who i was.

  Welcome. Congratulations on your "waking up" at 21. Some of us didn't wake up until way way later.... So you still have your 20's ahead of you.

  I would start creating a relationship with any non jw relative... the stronger the better... the more the better.. also with people outside a cult...

  Become financially independent and if you can start learning more skills... ideally in school but nowadays you can learn a lot online...

  Its like you are preparing for Armaggeddon... But this will be your personal one.. and the good news is that you might lose your family... but you wont lose your life... not yet :-) Sorry but there's no paradise with pet lions... your paradise started when you woke up... and it wont last forever.. so you better start enjoying whats left of it.

  isnt that a great thing?

  doesnt that mean that now they are starting to really become part of the world they live?

  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  The french army used a clay horse sculpted by Leonardo da Vinci as target practice. A 25 ft statue built around 1499. For sure the biggest statue in its time...

  The allies bombed in WWII many centuries-old buildings, churches, cities...

  I always wondered why would they destroy something that belongs to all of us... human beings.

  It seems we have not changed much.

  Many can't seem to see 1 day ahead of them... how could they think 100, 200 years from now?

  The we gonna need to get rid of all the statues of george washington, and john adams and all the signers of the declaration of independence of the usa.

  and get rid of the one dollar bills..

  oh but also the bible.... at least the OT and of yaweh, he loved his slaves...

  and all the kings of england and spain and france and portugal, and the dutch...and any king prior to 1850

  and that solves the issue. thats it no more racism and police brutality

  And that's is exactly the point. That even the most criminal of criminals deserves a fair trial and due process, regardless of his crimes and color.

  I believe the judiciary system is also flawed and needs urgent re structuring but is the best we can do right now.

  GF's past or present, is not the issue. The issue is Police abuse of force without accountability, violation of their oath to protect the constitution, police policy that gives immunity to police officers, the abuse of power of the state. That's the real issue. GF's Murder was just the spark... but the combustible has been piling up for a while.

  If they had not touched GF, he would be dead very soon anyway based on his lifestyle.

  And what's the biggest issue? is that many don't see it or choose to excuse it or just look the other way.

  cities across america have been pillaged and destroyed these last few days.

  a white policeman has been charged with murder of a black man.

  protests have been organized across major us cities and horrible riots have occurred.

  Many different groups of people all put into a basket!. Its's the coronavirus.. how does that sound? stupid?

  Just because that is happening at the same time does not mean its the cause.. it might have contributed to the level of stress.

  The protesters of police brutality... protest. some peacefully, some might be angry because they were mistreated

  The angry people with primitive education... will react in a primitive manner. And this might be the trigger and their excuse to destroy.... is this the same group? not necessarily.. they might be out there with the rest.

  Thieves... steal.. and this is a good opportunity for them to steal with less consequences (for them)

  People with coronavirus... you bet there are out there in any of the groups

  Anarchists? This is a good one. I read many people call them anarchists even regular news... a poor use of the word since there are many kinds of anarchism.... the majority of the people looting don't even know what that means... which in essence is the abolition of any hierarchical agency that is not necessary for the functioning of society... Ghandi, Tolstoy, Chomski, Thoreau all believed in some type of anarchism.

  The protest is not about the George Floyd... that is the trigger... every person might have something different to protest.... what many people are tired of is the abuse of power from law enforcement....

  Any interaction where a police officer goes above and beyond of what he is suppose to do is abuse of his power... a simple request for ID when there is no probable cause of any crime constitutes an abuse of power...

  for the first time in my life, i have to admit that the world is rapidly deteriorating.

  first i saw a decline in democracy worldwide.

  elections were a tough battle every time, unfair too.

  we live longer and in better conditions than 100, 200, 300 years ago.

  people can protest and talk freely about their opinions the protests and means in many parts of the world.

  this homicide that got many people outraged is not the first killing by abuse of power. but now we have cameras to record it and upload it for all to see.

  And to the comment that US soldiers wouldn't kill their own country men..... This whole mess is because one US law enforcement officer slaughter another man from his own country.
