Dear Think about it, I'd love to tell. But since there are other people involved... And I'm not talking about just one case, but at least four cases of BLATANT flirtation at its worst (in three of these cases, elders in good standing, in VERY good standing, are involved). Nearly all of them are currently extremely unhappy they can't make their dream come true. And I'd better not add anything else, since I want to continue to consider myself a discreet woman. Love, OLGA.

JWs pretended to be someone else at my door.
by myusername inthis is probably in the wrong section, but i couldn't decide where to put it.
i was raised a jw and i still suffer effects from that kind of upbringing.. anyway, they said they were local community volunteers and they wanted to give me something related to the community.
i didn't open the door but they put a jw tract through it.. i don't think it's right to be so devious about recruitment.

Think about it said: "Probably far more flirting and affairs by married persons goes on inside the KHs than at work".
If only I spoke...!

What difference does it make if we are born in?
by wanderlustguy inborn in, what difference does it make?.
i was thinking about this one a lot over the last few weeks.
what difference does it make whether you were born into a cult or were brought in as a teen or adult?

Dear Wonderlustguy, this is one of the best posts I've read lately. How well you have described it! I can't wait to read it to my 11-year old son, who, having been liberated only one year ago, will also be able to relate to a lot of it, plus it will help him appreciate even more the freedom he enjoys now compared to what his teenage years would have been like had I not woken up. Thank you very much indeed!

Thank you, Darth frosty, for posting this. I skipped the curse words in my mind as I read along, as I always do, so nothing would detract from the very reasonable argumentation of this talented writer. Thanks for sharing. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hello, four candles! Nice to hear from you. I'm glad you decided to start your own very first thread. And since an image is worth more than 1.000 words, your video does help to highlight the absurdity of that Bible passage. Although I think it would have been far more striking if kids had been used instead of adults, don't you think? Hugs, OLGA.

Whatever happened to kindness?
by Terry inlately i've notice how few people i'm around practice kindness.. it is, frankly, apalling to me.. i don't see any reason to be rude.
there is too much of that already.. when somebody makes a mistake i try to let it drop and not mention it or give them a dig.. why?
how hard is it to be kind?.

Forget what they say, most JWs do not believe the end is near...
by drew sagan ini was a baptized jw for 7 years.
during that time i repeatedly vocalized my belief that "the end is near.
" however, what did this cost me?

I sometimes remember what an American elder (Peter Pugh, from the congregation of Hemet, California, in case someone here knows him) told my family a couple of years before 1975: "Do you know what the brothers are beginning to say in the U.S.A.? (Being in Spain, we always got the news a few months later than you). That maybe after all the end will not come in 1975, since everybody expects it to come in that year and then the verse "When nobody is expecting it, the end will come", would not be fulfilled. Therefore rumours are starting to spread that it will be coming in 1976 (!!!!)". And he smiled ever so proud of his deep discernment.

"Jehovah. you well know I've loved you with my whole heart and mind for as long as I can remember till one year ago. I've loved more than I've loved any other human being including my two beloved children. I would have sacrificed them for you. Until gradually in the course of a few months I realized my common sense had been stifled from birth by indoctrination and was horrified at the kind of God the Bible depicts, at the intense feelings I had felt for you and at what I'd have been willing to do on your behalf. That's why I dropped everything I'd lived for and began a life based on honesty and real love, with the same intensity I had devoted to you before. But you know all that already, don't you?..."
