this was a favorite way of getting away from the very unloving "loving brothers and sisters".
hide in the toilets, no one can collar you and tell you off.
and even better you won't be in amongst a group of people but still feeling so alone... at least you will actauly be alone!.
The way to avoid staying in the main hall to hear boring speeches and talks, was for many: toilet, a telephone call, baby is criying...out in the small hall or in the library, go away and come before the meeting was over...... Time is soooo looong at the meetings....

my user name highdose i chose because after leaving the borg i was on a high dose of anti depressants to help me cope.. i'm happy to report that my user name is no longer accurate!
after many weeks of cutting the dose down i am now off the pills totaly!:).
such a relief!
I'm so glad for you highdose!!!! It takes time, even years to 'digest' and elaborate the damages in our lives of this mind-control cult. It has happened to my husband and me, though we could overcame the problem withouth help of medicaments. But to talk about it, every day, between us, with others who left the org, with the help of forums is one of the good way to recovery.
So, now you could rename yourself...something like: HIGHDOSEHAPPINESS??????

there are many newcomers who may see references on this website to barbara anderson but not understand the complete awesomeness of what she has done, and continues to do, in the pursuit of truth.. for those who don't know, a brief summary: barbara and her husband joe spent most of their lifetime being uber-witnesses, bringing 80 or so people into the organization and ending up at brooklyn bethel.

before i begin " my struggling life story" names have been changed to protect there identity.it all started for me at the age of about 10 when myself and most of my mates used to bother with the girls down the road.we all used to play as young children did but it was after the girls had gone in where we would sit around and chat and as boys do, used to ask who fancied who etc etc.
well for me i wasn't that interested and thought nothing of it.
it was only when i started comprehensive school did i notice that i was slightly different to all my mates/friends.

But if it helps, I have a nephew (son of my JW sister) who has abused when he was 5 y.old since 10y. old. He got baptized, as all around him in the congregation did. He started to talk to my husband and me, about his sexual orientation, we have understood his situation and talked a lot to him, he feels a special attachment to us, but his parents cannot accept at all, he leaves still with them and the situation is really hard because his father every two words brings the conversation on the subject.
We have tried to let them think with their head and heart...very difficult. Anyway, my nephew, has taken his own decision, to stop his association with the organization and announced to his family that he has a male-friend. Hard for them to accept, but now he feels better, he feels free from the oppression of this organization.
You have the blessing of having also children, stay in love with whoever you want, enjoy your life, it is the only life we have.....the new order is only a dream of the Watchtower. Our God is much more understanding and lovable than any elder, you do not owe any explanation to them . God will understand your situation, he loves you anyway. Keep strong and get free of all your misplaced fears! All the best to you!

i live in a 'difficult territory', though there is a kingdom hall only 15 minutes walk away.. how do jw's deal with door knocking in difficult territories?.
our door can be hard to hear if people come knocking but there is usually somebody home.
i haven't seen a jw at my door in 10 years or so.. now most of you would think that was great i know, but it would be good to meet them in the flesh occasionally, without having to go to the hall or arrange a study.. .
Oh yes, it is recommended to work the territory twice a year.
You must leave in a very difficult surrounding, since you as Christian are the minority.
If you define ‘difficult’ your territory because of immigrants, what would you say to preach in a territory where the area is under control of the local ‘mafia’?
This is what happens in a particular area in Italy, where even the police is afraid to approach and interfere, since the whole population is ready to fight against the police, where gangsters are accurately hiding, drugs (preparation and distribution) is sold for a good price, so people from all over Italy goes there to ‘test’ it…sometimes some die….
Well, in such a wonderful environment, the Watchtower (my sister told me) has appointed a couple of pioneer to preach there!!!!!
The first day, they founded their car with two tyres flat…..
Is it really wise to expose people to such dangers? Has the Watchtower, some compassion, some feeling and concern for people who works free of charge for them??????? Do they still think that the ‘good news’ will operate on the hearts of such people????

i gave my hubby his present around 6a.... we (me & hubby) will be celebrating christmas with a family that used to go to our same kh (the dad was an elder and one of the daughters regularly pioneered for years).
they all left the jw's a little over a year ago.
we were asked to bring some extra chairs, but the only ones i could think of were some old bookstudy chairs stashed at my parents house, which are now in the back of my car.

This is for us our 3rd Christmas without Watchtower !
Our Christmas dinner will be this evening, with our children and their friends, all ex-JW.
The Christmas tree is shining with lights and colours, all around the gifts for all of us with red paper and gold ribbons…
The dinner will be:
Homemade Lasagna, Meatballs and Slices of Pork-filet in tomato sauce, mixed salad, potatos quenelles/croquettes, fried artichokes, and the desert will be a typical one: small balls with honey.
So…happy Christmas to us, happy Christmas to all of you!

i've been looking in the watchtower library all morning and can't find anything.. i know that jws have this rule (is it unwritten??
) where a brother and a sister should not be left alone in a car, a house, or any private place.
but my jw father says it's not so, and he spent a part of yesterday installing a computer program at a jw couple's house while the man was at work and the wife was at home.
In our old Europe, in one of the Mediterranean country this is the mentality: women do not go out with somone else than the husband or their father. Women do not drive if their husbans is aside!
So applying to JW, sisters do not go in the field service with brothers, only with sisters!
Extending the problem...when we were very close to the family of my husbands' assistant of circuit assembly, we were used, to go to their place and stay for the week-end. Our children (girls and boy) were used to sleep in their separate rooms at home, but when a family of 5 goes to someone's else house, they can generally provide 2 bedrooms, one for parents, one for children, ok? Well after some time, he realized that: it is not good for brothers to sleep in the same room than his sister.....so, in my house, one of them will sleep on the sofa!!!!!.....
What do you think our children would do during the night????? We said. Well nothing, he said...but you never know, I wish only to avoid problems under my roof!!!!!
Don't you think this is the reflect of exceptional and awkwardly placed zeal ?

I love to travel on boats, I love the sea, I love to swim and plunge, I love fish-watching, I love to walk on the seaside, I love to look at the sea in summer and in winter.
I miss the sea, since I leave far from it. That's a pity!!!!
