I remember having attended with my young husband to the international assembly in 1968 in Rome, 8 days sitting there till late in the afternoon, going around looking for a meal after the programm at 7, 8 p.m., and the next morning at 9.30 a.m. there again for another session of useless talks.
In fact, who remembers the gist or substance of the talks? I thinks the most interesting in the conventions is the SOCIAL gathering, but none of the spiritual aspect of which nobody cares!
How can the GB can ask normal people and families to sacrifice 1 week of holidays in attending conventions? How can they ask families to spend during 8 days for food and hotel?
So sad, having lost so many hours, days, months and years, 50 in my case, for a useless purpose!

Hi everybody,
I would like to contribute in a constructive way to the problem expressed by Dudu: they just kept saying,, is normal to have pain during the period...
Only these recent years it has been recognised this problem and defined as: Endometriosis , you will find more informations here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endometriosis
I can tell you that this is a serious problem that tends to repeats itself. Unfortunately, my daughters suffers of this problem. One o f them had to pass through surgery TWICE because she had endometriosis on the bladder, and had to be taken a piece of the bladder away. Fortunately, despite the problem, she was able to have a child... of whom we are so happy!
It is recent the problem as far as my second daughter is concerned. She started to have lots of pain during her 'period' these last months, till the last time a few weeks ago, to the point she had to go to the hospital with an ambulance since she could not move.
The ENDOMETRIOSIS has been discovered on ovaries and behind the uterus, despite the fact that almost a year ago she asked her gynecologist (the same for her sister too) to check if there was endometriosis, since her sister had suffered of it. He didn't find any at the time. So in a few months it has developed causing lots of pain. We hope that the problem will not affect her fertility.
So, ask your gynecologist to check because the ENDOMETRIOSIS could affect different organs causing lots of damages.
Take care, Regards,
Claudia

Hi Cedars,
I have participated to the survey, though I'm leaving in Europe. I have sent the links to my children ans a friend, so they can participate too. And what about the italian forum on which I participate? Do you think would be a good idea asking them to participate?
I'm inactive (and no more a JW believer) since 6 years, my husband is a well known 'apostate' who also writes on here. We have good contacts with the Andersons.
Good initiative yours.
Regards,
Claudia

I'm Italian origin. We make large use of vegetables. I have been Chef Teacher in a kitchen-school during years. We love to eat... good things!
I would suggest:
Simple tomato salade:
2 sliced tomatoes possibly not entirely red, dispose in a dish, add origan, salt, olive oil, sliced red onion, black olives, you can also add cuncumber..
Delicious Eggplants:
1st: Sliced 1 eggplant not very thick and grill them, serve with parsley, smashed garlic and olive oil, do the same with zucchini... if you would and could you could add a cheese slice in between, when still warm..it will melt..delicious!
2nd: Eggplant salad: Cut the eggplant in small squared pieces cook them in hot water, when ready (10-15 min) drain. When cold, add: Olive oil, vinager, salt, parsley, garlic, origan ... to be kept in the fridge even a few days!
I stop here, if you need me again.. I'm here

He has been invited as member of the GB to give a talk at the DC in July 2005 in Switzerland.
Good speaker, he knows how to work on emotions...
One sentence remains in my head..he said: If we have committed some errors? Jehovah's spirit knows where Adams street is located, and can help us to make some adjustments!!!!!!
I thought that God would inspire them to...not commit errors!!!!! It smells...arrogance and haughtiness!

Sorry, some correction:
Jehovah's Witnesses, who have always defended as a sect,....should read: JW who always defended from the accusation of being a sect
draconian state according to him...should also read; a freedom-killer State
refusing to leave before any dialogue.. should read: he left, refusing any dialogue (after having declared that the french State kills the freedom (of JW... he left refusing dialogue....what an arrogant person!!!!!!)

Disassociation Letter
by dontplaceliterature inhave any of you who formally diassociated yourself from jehovah's witness by letter sent anything in writing to the entire congregation?
would it be considered bad form to send a letter to friends in the congregation regarding your decision and the reasons for it, before/after/simultaneously you send a letter to the boe?.
i think i would feel compelled to, out of acknowledgement that most of them would not speak to me after "the big announcement.

I would send a copy of my letter also to friends and family to inform them of the REAL reasons who pushed me to DISFELLOWSHIP THEM!!!!!
I would'nt make a SILENT exit as if I was guilty! But, be careful in sending your letters at the same time...before the elders have the possibility to announce your disfellowshipping!!!!
