  during my studies i became aware of the ancient custom hebrew marriage ........12 steps in all...... during the end of the marrige ceremony the husband and wife would cut thier hands and join them as a signification of becoming one in the eyes of jehovah...... thus mingling their blood with each others................................ i have 3 questions....... are jehovah winesses aware of this?.

  would jehovah's witnesses regard this as blood transfusion?.

  what would jehovah think about many of the ancient hebrew prophets of old becoming married in this way?.

  I was just the average JW, so here goes...

  during my studies i became aware of the ancient custom hebrew marriage ........12 steps in all

  12 steps! As an average JW, I only knew of two steps. Get everybody drunk at the wedding feast (Jesus turning water into wine) and the man taking the woman home with him (Joseph accepting Mary as his wife).

  Couldn't tell you, but I'd bet if this was brought to the attention of the average JW, he would brand this information as apostate on the spot.

  Well since Jehovah is the God of the Hebrew people, I imagine Jehovah and his wife Asherah probably swapped God Blood in the same fashion.

  Are WT security staff armed?

  is any jw who works at brooklyn, patterson or the wt farms as a security guard armed with a weapon?.

  i just wondered if they actually rely on the police to turn up in an emergency or what they plan to do to protect themselves when armageddon actually arrives or.....if there are intruders.. i wondered if arms were 'slightly' acceptable and if in the near or distant future another waco was in the making.. anyone know if the security staff are armed?.

  What's OK/ What's not... CONFUSING!

  my mil who is an active witness, just made each of her kids and spouses a huge tray of christmas cookies wrapped with red and green bows and delivered them christmas eve day.

  what would the elders think of this?

  i get so confused as to what's ok with them and what's not ok. it all seems very contradictory to me and they basically make excuses to do as they please, but criticize everyone else for say, letting their kid watch harry potter.

  First of all, no one claims anything like 30 million species of beetles , so beetle calculations based on that number (i.e. 7,000 species per year) are bogus.

  Can't argue with that.

  Secondly, the number 87 per year (though based on a more realistic number of beetle species), also assumes only one pair on the ark and no survivors outside the ark. If only 100 species of beetles survived outside on floats, and on the ark, then the number of species per year drops to below 1 per group.

  If you read the Biblical account, it says in so many words that all living things was destroyed. So we must take God, a being that can't lie, at his word.

  Most importantly let us also not forget that all the species need not descend directly from the original surviving pairs (and could have also have come about from speciation events happening to their descendents, and their descendants descendants, etc, etc.),

  Again, according to the Bible, we are all descendants of Noah. That would also apply to the animals. In order to arrive at the variety of beetles, new species would need to happen more rapidly than the current scientific understanding of genetic mutation dictates. It appears that you are attempting to make the case that this could happen. What proof do you care to present? Or would you just prefer to pick on badboy's math without actually providing a counterpoint?
