Well, time to confess too. Once in a great while, I smoke pipe tobacco. I find it harmless, and I am not addicted. I smoke about once every three weeks. I have for years. I am surprised that I was never caught! Especially with a Jehovah's Witness right next door.

GOOD NEWS / BAD NEWS
by You Know ingood news/bad news.
first, the good news: the good news, at least as far as the watchtower's multitudinous enemies are concerned, is that the watchtower's days are definitely numbered.
the bad news, as far as apostates should be concerned, is that the days for this present system, as we know it, are also of equally short duration.

Hmmm,
That reminds me of how I came to be involved with JWs. It was 1991 and the USA was bombing Iraq. Jehovah's Witness had me believe that the world would soon end, because Iraq is in the same area as Babylon was. Boy was I stupid to fall for that! The last conversation I had with a Jehovah's Witness was about the economy. He was saying that with the good times we were experiencing that fullfills the "Security" part of "Peace and Security and sudden distruction was to be upon them" or however it say that. -

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society says that they are God's chosen mouth piece. Why would Jesus punish his and God's mouth piece? I thought they were only repeating what Jehovah and Jesus say. Now you have given me the impression that they don't. Which is it? Are they just saying what Jehovah tells them to say, (therefore not needing to be punished) or are they just making it up (therefore Jehovah or Jesus needs to punish them)? I am confused!

Who's afraid of the Watchtower? Not Me!
by mauddib inyou ought to feel ashamed of letting them take away fear they don't deserve.. now's the time to discover a startling truth those who dared to step into their pit of spiritual punishment have found.
the "pit" of darkness they threaten to push you into is only 2-inches deep with a bottom painted black.
i have walked right across it to the other side.

Well, I guess I had some fear of the Watchtower. Because they make it sound like they are god. The constant "Fear God, Fear Jehovah", can make a person have fear of the Society. I was always nervous whenever an Elder had councel he wanted to share with me. Even, if it was something nice he wanted to say. But now, all I have is anger, and dissapointment.

Singles Sign-in
by Prisca inthis is a friendly little thread for those who want to pop in and say hi.
some of us are single, and might even be looking, and with the large number of great people on this board, there may be a chance where a couple or two might meet up!.
so if you are single, don't mind sharing a little about yourself here, and perhaps curious as to who else is single, then reply here!.

Hi Prisca,
I am single, but I agree with seven006. I don't want to come off as desperate. Although, I am not seeing anyone at the moment. I am 25, male, in Kansas USA, and I left the Society about 10 months ago. I love to meet new people, which is why I started posting here. I am not sure what you have in mind, but maybe this is a start. Also, I enjoy writing letters. So anyone is welcome to e-mail me.

Please Respond To Survey! 25 more needed please.
by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.

I was forced to go because of my dad, who never was a Jehovah's Witness. He thought it was the truth, but thought he was unworthy to be called a Jehovah's Witness. I left them 10 months ago.

Dear You Know,
Speaking of not answering questions. I am still waiting for an answer from you. You said that the society is punished by Jesus when it makes false statements. HOW DOES JESUS PUNISH THE SOCIETY? -
