  30 years later I've grown a beard again

  this is one thing that bugged me about "the lie" ,when they came down hard on men who had grown facial hair in the 8o's ( and womens adornment,clothes etc).

  a ms at the time had a beard and grizzled about shaving it off but did after the talk at the assembly, he's an elder now but i wonder whether he chafes a bit at the taking away of ones personal freedom to grow something that god gave us men.. i never grew one when a jw for i was a drone i guess ,but with alot of small things over the years this did irritate me and seemed just a way the gov body controlled our lives by taking away a natural thing in life .it's not like men would have beaded,braided or let it grow to look like a feral and be unclean and untidy.. and we have paul saying in 1 cor 10 that he became all things to others to gain them to christ - well what about beards ?

  is there anything more natural?

  Let the JWs have their stupid ritual. The video is distasteful, disrespectful and helps confirm what JWs say about those who leave the religion. The best way to help anyone who wishes to leave the JWs is to show how great life can be outside of the cult.

  F- 5 tornado hit Kansas

  it wiped the city of greensburg out.

  greensburg is about a 100+ miles from where i live.

  now, every wall cloud that i see will be scaring the hell out of me.

  These storms have played hell on thousands of lives. I think we Kansans will be glad to see some fair weather soon. Between the tornados and the flooding, we've had our fill for one spring.

  (Praying for the storm victims and that the Wichita area is spared anything as bad as what happened in Greensburg...)

  Taking predictions for the 2007 memorial partakers!!

  i'm doing this well in advance so that all the wonderful people on jwd can look back later and see just how close they were to the actual number!

  (it is possible the wts might stop publishing the partaker numbers) in a few days, i will duly record the link to this thread for future reference.. remember that there were 8524 partakers in 2005 and 8758 partakers in 2006, an increase of 234 partakers.

  so how many remnant will partake in 2007??.

  Sure, I lost my childhood because of Jehovah, but it could be worse. I could have been Jephthah's daughter and been given up as a burnt offering to Jehovah instead.

  i think it's more of a ploy to get inactive, disfellowshipped, and newbies to the hall.. it has nothing * it has much more to do than this one event.. .
