  Bump, I just saw this, very good movie. So much real history in it.

  Especially using the bible to stop Hypatia ( a woman) from being a teacher, amoung oter things.

  Most interesting to me is that while fictional, there is a lot of underling fact in here of things that really did happen. It depicts the Christians sacking the library of Alexandria.

  Here is the IMDB summary.

  Alexandria, 391: Hypatia teaches astronomy, mathematics, and philosophy. Her student Orestes is in love with her as is Davus, her personal slave. As the city's Christians, led by Ammonius and Cyril, gain political power, the great institutions of learning and governance may not survive. Jump ahead 20 years: Orestes, the city's prefect, has an uneasy peace with Christians, led by Cyril. The Christians enforce public morality; first they see the Jews as their obstacle, then women. Hypatia has no interest in faith; she's concerned about the movement of celestial bodies and the brotherhood of all. What place is there for her?

  no, see Moses' generation overlapped with Jesus' generation. They died out after 70ce. The 1914 generation that overlapps with our generation is the....wait, I am confused.

  This is nothing new, as they have always said the "the faithful and descreet slave and it representive governing body"

  Same thing.

  Btw, When they say faithfull and descreet slave, most of the time they are only speaking about the governing body as is this case.

  this is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).

  avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.

  (para 7, pg 16).
