I knew something wasn't right, thats what made me start looking behind the curtian, I wanted to leave, I guess I was looking for a reason to leave, but I didn't make the decision to never go back until I learned the TATT.

Did any of you know the TATT before you left?
by marriedtoajw ini know that all everyone's experience vary but i ask this because i am under the impression that since jw's are taught to avoid reading material that may be critical of their teachings they just stay away.
yet many of you violated this at some point to come accross information that confirmed or convinced you of "the problems" with the org.
i have also spoken to active jw's online who seem to know the controvercies but still defend the org vigorously.

I spend a lot of time on Reddit, I don't post a lot, however to an extent I understand where he is coming from. However just like we tell people here, there are all kinds. There are exjws who want to protest meetings and conventions and ail letters to everyone they know, others don't think this is a good idea. In this case I think both views are valid because JWs are as varied as Ex-Jws.
Belivers are as varied as ex Believers too
Yes there is a lot of juvenile crap on reddit, welcome to the internet. Otheres agree with this, someone started a subreddit called trueatheisim where mems and pictures are not allowed, personally I like both depending on my mood
This author wrote an article on the creation measuem, to do so and then criticize these people seems immature to me.

I grew up in a college town. The students that came in to attend i think fell under two classes.
One were those who was using it as a way to leave, fade or just disappear.
The second were throes who wanted to try, but they were usually treated as second class citizens and berated for simply being a student.
I think it started to soften later by the time I left, but I never stood a chance of going myself, even though I lived locally. It was so degraded and treated as worse than a virus, but the college is what kept the town alive, many wouldn’t have a their menial jobs otherwise.

Your kids need to see the world is bigger that what they know now. Help them make friends outside the org, this will open them up to you, I believe when you show them there is more fun things to do that play meeting.
Regarding meeting with the elders, you may try meeting with two elders and include you wife in the discussion, make it a friendly meeting to discuss "something" then your wife can watch while they can't answer your questions. I think that if you go the letter to bethel route you will put them on the offence.

Introducing Mrs Cedars...
by cedars ini just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.
she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.
she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.
