reading the comment made by sir82, reminds me when I questioned the stance on education while still in it hurt my head, because so many things you can do with a education open up opportunities that could be used for the org. Teaching or engineering for example, you could get a job in just about any country you wanted. when I was younger the org was growing in Japan by leaps and bounds, if you taught english you could get a job very easy.

yet they choose to talk us out of school, then ask for people with degrees to come to bethel and work on the new computer system.

Little Free Library

hey all,.

almost finished with a "little free library" to set up in front of the house and was wondering if anyone else has put one of these up?

got to thinking that it may get filled up with my tots fav periodicals, watchtower and awake.. anyone else had any experience with this?

if you keep an eye on it you could stem the flow of literature AKA "trash".

Have you heard the phrase HoneyPot? i'm sure there are other uses, but in the IT world, it is a server purposely setup to allow hackers in, then they are traced or monitored.

"Ones"

(i never was a dub).. this is something which has intrigued me for a while.

i don't know whether it's dub-speak, or us-speak.. it's the use of the word 'ones' as in 'interested ones', 'worldly ones', 'disfellowshipped ones' and so on and so on.. in the 'normal world' we would probably use the word 'people'.. thoughts?.

it's a particularly American English pronoun, and considered formal. It's overused, but nothing really wrong with it in American Culture. However I believe, it would be considered outdated but most Americans today.

There are lots of people of all walks of faith on goFundme asking for money for mission trips. It even has a category just for that.

I remember shaking my head about it, how much money was being raised just to spread lies to unknowing people.

these numbers and letters:--gbr659967--are the only identifying markson this boe..the "informant" who sent it said:.

"this letter came through the congregation inbox and so hasn't got theusual identifying information.

the name of the file is probably thebest way to identify it.

OH, so they are not talking about blank forms, but one with personal info on them? So that means no data stored in the UK, but on servers somewhere else, presumably in the US.

Both letters are there, the new one and the 2011 BOE letter, but not the new form.

So with the GBR on it, was that addressed to the UK branch area?

also was there really an attachment or am I missing the new form that it mentions?
