  WHY DO ELDERS LABEL THOSE EXPOSING ERROR AS APOSTATES?

  first topic posted - sorry if it is a bit too long.. why do elders accept this absurd teaching of demons: "anyone rejecting what is not of god, is rejecting god"???.

  evidence that these elders - not their victims - are apostates (wolves, weeds, the man of lawlessness, the antichrist, practicers of spiritism).

  having gone through extreme adversity and consequently deep spiritual waters our family has come to understand apostasy to fundamentally mean the following:.

  #2.................Pose as God's special people, with no salvation possible outside, with claims of exclusive knowledge

  #3 ................Development of a strong organization

  #4.................Worship of the organization

  #5.................Claims of divine revelation

  #6.................Weapons of excommunication developed

  #7.................Threats of divine wrath on non-believers

  Why is that word used? It is very old. Comes from Sanskrit and means, "to descend?"

  In Hinduism it has reference to materialized angels who had affairs with human women.

  i believe someday it will be as obscure and strange as say the russelites.

  the meetings will only be attended by ppl over sixty or so and it will hardly be considered anywhere near as significant a religion as it is today.

  i wonder what will begin this process.

  i also read a thread questioning the watchtowers motives.

  are they in it for the money or what?

  It's a good one isn't it. Between the wtbt$ intransigence when it comes to admitting error

  and the human proclivity of acting like sheeple, it says a lot. It's not called Babylon III for nothing.

  The governing body and college of cardinals have much in common.

  They both have one that rules. Then there are the appointed bishops, do's, co's, etc.

  Picture's pretty clear. And then there's the organization book and catechism.

  i myself have always believed that when archaeology disagreed with the bible the bible must be right.

  that is how i dismissed the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 586/587 bce.

  Can anyone provide wtbt$ "studies" that examined Biblical records to arrive at 607 from the beginning? It seems that they only thing you ever heard were statements like, "reliable Bible chronology confirms 607........" Never any serious pre-607 number crunching, or post for that matter. The only thing they could do was add and subtract 2520. Anything else I think they considered numerology.

  As to the 70 year thing, 70 is one of several repetitive numbers. And if Cyrus/Persia was used to bring down Babyon I, and was a type, then.....

  Time to analyze the BCS again. What a joke. Let's just imagine, leaving out those important entrees from Ohio and Michigan, he he he, and that Ala/Fla/Tex go undefeated along with Iowa, Boise and Cincy. Who's supposed to be #1? Or even better, they all stumble and we wind up with about a dozen teams with one loss. Reminds me of the NFL owners debate, for at least 10 years, about whether to have instant replay to get bad calls right. But now that the Fed is monetizing the deficit and gold is liable to go to $7000 and everything denominated in $$'s goes into the tank, and everybody gets sick from taking the swine flu shot, I suppose it doesn't much matter.

  seinfeld fans - remember the episode where george is so desperate to get fired by the yankees that he does all these things to defy the boss and still keeps his job?.

  well, i have been going through the same thing at the kh.

  i havent been to a thursday meeting in weeks, i am getting like 2 hours of field circus a month (just mailing it in while my fade progresses) i dont comment, most people know that i would rather not be there, etc...... so i go last night since it is the co visit, and my wife really wanted me to come.

  was at the kingdumb hell yesterday after a gap.. paragraph 11 planted the seed in the sheeples' heads for this.. remember last weeks study, where martha was quoted as saying: "i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.

  " (jo 11: 24) the term "last day" was explained as applying to the millennium, in the same way as "judgment day" for those receiving an earthly resurrection.. now for paragraph 11 - i noticed some bemused faces, as usually john 6 is avoided in articles discussing earthly resurrection:.

  " "the bread that i shall give is my flesh," he said.
