I'm confused. Been hit on pretty hard in the last few weeks by somebody about half my age.
Are they desperate or stupid? Or is there something I don't understand?

i mean , they go to all that humungous labor, build a huge box to put over the oil gushing out and wham 5,000 ft. deep it gets clogged with ice crystals.
now they are talking about a couple other alternatives in the news- all the while today haliburton, bp, and other reps are meeting with federal officials getting into a pissing match and fight over who is responsible for the spill ?
And along with BP executives, how about members of government?
hello ex-elders, onthe wayout, snakes, and wilyloman, just to refresh about a month ago i told you all that the appeal committee had overturned the disfellowshipping decision by the original jc as the appeal committee got a hold of me by phone and told me the society gave them direction in this.
i have since explained the situation to my witness mom and dad, 80 &82, they are good with it.
i am taking copies of the counsel you ex elders gave to me to be careful about what i say at this "alleged encouragement" meeting and promise you this, i'll watch my words carefully when they ask me questions.
This is what happens when there's no public accountability.
The self-righteous elders are only accountable to themselves, the loving CO and their wives.
They were canvassing today. Was hoping they'd stop by.
Wanted to tell 'em I was already in a cult that knew how to pronounce God's name.
Called The Way. Then quote Proverbs 30:4 - in their Bible
Darby Translation (DARBY) - "Who hath ascended up into the heavens, and descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a mantle? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?"
(And it's not Jehovah and the guy who cuts your neighbor's grass.)

I read something in a psychology magazine today about a judge's ability to determine their own impartiality. It turns out that the more impartial they think they are they also consider themselves more righteous. I think this "blindness" applies to every jw elder. Once they've been appointed they feel they can do no wrong. There used to be a standing joke at our hall about how the only way an elder could get deleted, as they were such a bunch of brazen hippocrites, was if they were caught conducting immoraity in the hall.

Dear NaturalNews readers,
"As the BP oil catastrophe demonstrates, corporations now threaten life on our planet. Their greed may drown us all in a tidal wave of destruction that could impair our chances for sustainable human life on our planet. Today's feature story delves into this issue in more detail while daring to ask the question: Should We the People rise up against corporations like BP and make a massive citizens' arrest of their executives?"

the news from the gulf just keeps getting worse.
gulf oil spill more than 10x greater than thought: expertsby frank james and allison richards.
npr has learned that much more oil, 70,000 barrels a day or more than ten times the official estimate, is gushing into the gulf of mexico from the deepwater horizon pipe, based on scientific analysis of the video released wednesday.. that's the equivalent of one exxon valdez tanker full every four days.
Dead Sperm Whale Found Near BP Oil Spill
Updated: 5 hours 20 minutes ago
(June 17) -- "A dead sperm whale was found floating 77 miles from the Deepwater Horizon spill site in the Gulf of Mexico, and scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are trying to determine whether it was killed by the oil. The sub-adult whale was found Tuesday by the NOAA ship Pisces in oil-free waters but had been dead from several days to as long as a week and may have floated from contaminated parts of the Gulf, NOAA announced today. "NOAA and the Unified Command Wildlife Branch have had numerous reports of sperm whales seen swimming in the oil, but this is the first confirmed report of a dead whale since the BP oil spill began," the agency said. "NOAA remains concerned about sperm whales, which are the only endangered resident cetaceans in the upper Gulf of Mexico. Sperm whales spend most of their time in the upper Gulf offshore area, live at depth in areas where subsurface dispersants and oil are present, and feed on deepwater squid, which may also be impacted by the oil and dispersants."...."
