Orwellian World was good. So was Releasing the Bonds. However, I would rate both Apocalypse Delayed (Penton) and Crisis of Conscience above these.
I also highly recommend Wolves Among Sheep. Rarely do I pick up a book that I can't put down......
i have already read c.o.c.
and im not really interested in more about the doctrines.. i have read about the book "taking back your life", and mr. bohm has been pestering me about reading the book "releasing the bonds" by steven hassan.. which other books would you recommend?.
love, miss bohm.

thou hast made me endless,.
such is thy pleasure.. this frail vessel thou emptiest again and again,.
and fillest it ever with fresh life.. this little flute of a reed thou hast carried over hills and dales,.
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.
Roads go ever ever on,
Under cloud and under star.
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen,
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green,
And trees and hills they long have known.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with weary feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone.
Let others follow, if they can!
Let them a journey new begin.
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
Still 'round the corner there may wait
A new road or secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
several biblical scholars have suggested that yahweh originated with a group known as the shasu, canaanite nomads from southern transjordan.
an egyptian inscription at karnak from the time of pharaoh amenhotep iii (1390-1352 b.c.e.
) refers to the "shasu of yhw," evidence that this god was worshiped among some of the shasu tribes at this time.[2].
cameo-d,
As I understand it, Jehovah has left the Pleiades. He is no longer tied down to one location. He is currently flying solo; he is footloose and fancy-free. However, current WT$ doctrine stipulates that "Jehovah" has a body, ergo he cannot be in more than one place at the same time, so we can rest assured that he is somewhere..........

Sorry, I thought it was common knowledge ;)
Reconciliation 1928 p.14
The constellation of the seven stars forming the Pleiades appears to be the crowning center around which the known systems of the planets revolve even as our sun's planets obey the sun and travel in their respective orbits. It has been suggested, and with much weight, that one of the stars of that group is the dwelling-place of Jehovah and the place of the highest heavens;.......The constellation of the Pleiades is a small one compared with others which scientific instruments disclose to the wondering eyes of man. But the greatness in size of other stars or planets is small when compared with the Pleiades in importance, because the Pleiades is the place of the eternal throne of God
basd on my comment to another post titled "1979," i thought that this would make an interesting separate topic.. a little history: many here are aware that i was an ms and then elder and of the anointed while a jw.
i openly professed anointing for 20-years of the 27-years i was associated with the watchtower.
since that time, i have totally and completely renounced all but one watchtower doctrine.
ewwww. I think I prefer the WT$.

The Pleiades
lately i did a lot of reading regarding the un scandal, the org being a ngo for 10 years.
i tried to read both sides, the comments on jwfacts.com, as well as the defense at jehovahsjudgment.co.uk.. and then the endless discussion on topix.com between thirdwitness and alanf and others.. while i am sure, the way the org handled the whole situation, especially after the article in the guardian, was plain wrong, instead of openly confessing a mistake, it was done secretely and only after inquiry, and made it look like a cover-up.. .
however, considering the whole issue, i think it comes down to one question:.
What LatinxJW said.
One of the primary requirements (indeed, purposes) of obtaining NGO status with the UN was to disseminate UN propaganda. (Why do you think the WT$ was running so many pro-UN articles through the 90's?) The NGO was even required to provide the UN with samples of their UN propaganda campaign, which the WT$ did.
Now you tell me how it is not hypocritical for God's supposed "sole channel of communication" to also be a channel of communication for the wild beast of Revelation.
Read Nahum 1:2 and tell me that "Jehovah" would share his "channel of communication" with the wild beast.
"Jehovah is a God exacting exclusive devotion and taking vengeance; Jehovah is taking vengeance and is disposed to rage. Jehovah is taking vengeance against his adversaries, and he is resentful toward his enemies" (NWT)
Tell me why an individual JW is disfellowshipped for obtaining a YMCA membership, yet there is nothing wrong with the WT$ obtaining a UN (aka wild beast) membership.
Or, a person might renounce his place in the Christian congregation by his actions, such as by becoming part of an organization whose objective is contrary to the Bible, and, hence, is under judgment by Jehovah God. (Compare Revelation 19:17-21; Isaiah 2:4.) So if one who was a Christian chose to join those who are disapproved of God, it would be fitting for the congregation to acknowledge by a brief announcement that he had disassociated himself and is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. (wt 9/15/81, p.23)
You might also ask yourself why the WT$ is no longer an NGO member of the UN, if there was nothing "wrong" with such an association.

Thanks for posting.
this statement from the jan 2010 wt, page 13:.
[jesus] knew that he himself as king of that kingdom, along with his resurrected spirit-begotten brothers, would deal with the root causes of mankind's woes-sin and the devil.
(rom.
Satanus,
Thanks for clarifying. But even so, that doesn't change the fact that according to the F&DS, *they* [in spirit form] will deal with the root causes of mankind's woes - sin and the Devil.
Kinda presumptous of them considering there is no sciptural support for this claim.
