  why, what made you join JWs?

  i would like some brief stories of people saying the reasons they joined jw organisation.

  where you already in another church, were you disillusioned, were you biblically illiterate?

  Born into it... had a choice to make: baptism... did it 'cos all the other kids were. ps: to Gotcha: I'm in too... but please don't ever say or think there's no way out... give it time... life is good and will get better for you. (try the quiet fade for starters!) : )

  Celebrating One Full Year Of Freedom!

  i can't believe it but the first thursday of feb marked one full year of freedom for me and my children.. that thursday was the last meeting i ever attended.. we have never looked back and time has just gotten away from me because we are enjoying new experiences and trying to get used to this new life.

  i wonder what i should do to celebrate?.

  any suggestions?.

  Seems odd to say congratulations on something that never should have been in the first place, eh? One should never have to go through that kind of heartache... You were strong...congrats on this milestone in your lives. I say a trip to Disney is in order! : )

  october 1 a new day: looking back on the first parts to this series, one who is an ex-jw can perhaps appreciate these events as no other person.

  what may be a little different is how an exit can, for some, such as in my own situation, drag on and on with new difficulties, bizarre twists, and unexpected players on the field.

  a quick introduction then on to my 2nd post *smiles*.... general greetings & well wishes.....i'm new to jwd, but not new to xjw/jw chat.

  i'm 36 years old (and yes...i'm wearing a bonnet and a pink outfit in my pic) (that means i'm a chick for all you lusty men)i've spent the last 3.5 years online laughing, crying, generally healing from my watchtower divorce.

  so now that i've let go of all the spit n venom...i sit here worried that my posts will lack the sarcasm and general wicked tone necessary to keep your interest...maybe i should invest in some semi-nude glamour shots?

  does anyone have any ideas on how to find a friend?

  this is a childhood friend that i have not heard of for 12 years.

  are there any free websites that can run a search on people (even if they do not have an email address)?

  Welcome to the board, 'wick! Looking forward to hearing more about/from you! Without divulging too much info... can you tell us HOW you found out your elder brother is on this board? Did you use his computer and stumble across something? Or did some of his 'writings' and stories sound waaaaayyyy to familiar? I'm so curious! Do you think he'll reply to you, now that the "jig is up?" Jbean
