  Has anyone ever felt they were possessed by a demon?

  it was the "in-thing" to happen to sinners in jesus' time, being possessed.

  some could boast they had legions of demons calling their body home.. it was also a primary miracle for the top christians to perform, ridding demons away, proof you had god's spirit.

  I knew of a sister who threw her baby off a balcony, believing it was possessed. Later, she was trouble by visions, and scooped out her own eyes. Curiously, the sister didn't only have trouble with demons, but also with mental health.

  After becoming blind, she pioneered. A new circuit overseer to the area came around and was so impressed with her, ahem, blind devotion, that he mentioned submitting her story to the society to print as a good example. Some elders made him aware of the circumstances that led to her state, and the idea, ahem, dissappeared from sight.

  Helping others

  i have recently become aware of many inconsistencies that we teach as jw's and it has really distressed me.

  a few from our cong here in ireland get together and discuss the real truth from the bible.

  we were wondering teh best road to go down to help others find out thetruth, without being labelled as apostates, esp at assemblies etc.

  how can the Jw's explain away the haiti earthquake?

  i'm sure they will get asked on the doors "how could god let this happen?".

  i belive the standard answer is a fudged recitation of adam and eve, basicly meaning its ok that these people died becuase way back when, someone disobeyed god, and that makes it ok.... any other stupid jw explanations for this?.

  these people just love instiling guilt on these poor souls.. .

  at a recent circuit assembly a circuit overseer gave an awesome talk during the portion, 'giving attention to the needs of the circuit.

  and with such a high pricetag, please don't let it be empty.

  the idea expressed by some christians on this board is that somehow god specifically chose them.

  i wonder if everyone here who has kept up with me since i left jw's realize why i have been coming on here.

  it certainly has been cool to know that some of my experiences and opinions have helped some.

  i hope they know that i have been equally helped by others.. i come here primarily for me.

  Of course the healing process ends. It leaves permanent scars, but everyone has some of those. One day you look around and realize that despite your experience with Jehovah's Witnesses, that you're no more damaged goods than the 'normal' people around you. I've noticed that some people get way past that point without realizing it.
