If the GB came up with the 144,000 doctored-trine now it WOULD be men only. This explains why the fds is no longer the remnant but only the GB - otherwise why not have women on the GB if they are fds, there would be no reason (1st century women, ct Russels wife was on the board of directors AND he willed 5 women as trustees to watch out for any monkey business from the men willed to take over after his demise). Thoughts ...(1) always wondered why all the anointed I knew where women. (2)Why have WTBS removed removed from the bible ONLY ?3/4th century additions to the bible that fit in with their doctrine ie the "Johnnanine comma" 1 john 5:7 the famous trinity bit in John and the adultress story in john 8 but not the bit about women not speaking in church 1 corinthians 13.34 which they just as sure is a late addition to scripture -

Bang on iwasblind ....all the scriptures so out of context..as you say nothing wrong with looking up scripture together. Its worth reading up on some biblical/jewish/new testament history too to get some real context. I keep saying it but Jeruselem by Simon Sebag Montefiore is a great read AND sheds a lot of light onto why the bible writers wrote what they did...everyone has an angle. Read a little higher criticism too, ARM yourself with REAL KNOWLEDGE , knowledge =power which is why the WTBS want to keep folks ignorant. -

When I was a kid, the local cong elders after prayerful consideration offered the position of elder to a man who would be termed these days as 'learning disabled'. I remember the adults discussing it, the cong evidently felt that as a long term witness of good character there was nothing to prevent his becoming an elder, that to pass him over, as the most spiritually mature man in the cong would be wrong, bad form and (though they did not use the word )'prejudiced'. It was around 1981/2 and I remember being mightily impressed. As if the last bastion of the old order had been torn down- after all, would the C of E employ someone with downs syndrome as a bishop I reasoned. I know I will get lots of cracks along the lines that anyone with a low IQ is perfect JW material...but I am sure you get my drift about a rebellious young lefty being impressed by such egalitarianism....I hadnt yet got to the bit in JW culture that a 12 yr old child ("pre teen") is considered fit to lord it over a 50 yr old grandmother by virtue of his genitalia. -

Crisis Of Conscience In Audio Format?
by dubstepped ini'm just wondering if the book is available to be listened to in any format?
i know that it can be found online and read freely, and i've been through some of it, but i just wondered if it was available in any other way.
i guess it would be lacking some of the copies of articles and such that were in the original book, but it would still be interesting.

False messengers!
by Diogenesister in"jehovah god is the grand identifier of his true messengers.
he identifies them by making the messages he delivers through them come true.
jehovah is also the great exposer of false messengers.

Although my heart still breaks for the young you at least you had the joy of raising kids and have obviously done a fantastic job....nothing on earth tops that! So many gave up that joy becuse the org told them to do so. -

Normalcy bias keeps JWs from leaving
by zimunzucz ini have been frustrated by the inability of most jws to escape their bondage to the kh, despite repeated exposure to negative information about their religion and belief system.
perhaps it's due in part to something called normalcy bias- a definition i have found is:.
normalcy bias is part of human nature and, to some extent, we are all guilty of participating in it.

Done4good I couldn't agree more, you are bang on. As the org always say, all you can do is give a great 'witness' to your loved ones by example and be there when needed. -

Wouldnt it be more interesting to ask about things that CAN be proven but dont fit into the biblical scheme of things...like 5,000 year old Bristlecone Pine trees that must have survived Noahs flood (which occured 2370 BCE according to their chronology)without so much as damage to the trees inner rings.
