Headline: "Islamic Invasion: Europe now scrambles for guns." How true is this?
by cappytan ina year to a year and a half ago, i would have taken this article at face value and believed it.. now, i realize this article comes from a dubious source.
world news daily has a die-hard right-wing bias.
so, in an effort to get real information, i'm asking my european exjw's, is this article all true?

'Seek the Kingdom First' Economics
by Tornintwo inhas anyone else's family finances been victim to the 'seek the kingdom first' economic policy?.
for years, my husband and i have had our own business, my husband is not the most proactive guy, prefers to go in field service than to work, but he has always encouraged me to 'rely on jehovah and all these other things will be added to you', 'seek the kingdom first' etc etc.
there have been times, such as when i was heavily pregnant and we lost a big deal, that i have been begging jehovah on hands and knees to honour that promise, wondering why he wasn't helping us.

Ok.I can totally relate but I was wracking my brains for some useful advice.
What I was thinking was that as you rightly said what has got you this far is your hard work, brains & family help. As you continue baring most of the load and pull through whatever issues arise hubby will no doubt put that down to Jehovah too.
The only thing I could think of was to find a decent financial advisor of some kind ( the free kind that come with your bank or better yet a paid proffessional if u can afford it) and put your cards on the table. Tell them everything. The reason you are in this situation, that your husband can be relied on to a limited extent only and what you want.
See what they can come up with, a life plan if you like.
I really wish you all the best, beautiful and talented, you go girl!

Ahem....correction, their ASS would be set ablaze. Hardly fair to our four legged friend now is it?
It always seems to me that the animal world has suffered horribly for our mistakes according to Biblical convention.
As to Jesus being a hypocrite, we don't actually know that he said the stuff about the ass, fig tree, sword etc Who knows? A lot of the more extreme stuff, certainly against women, was said to be added in the 4th century by mysoganist monks jealous of the unusual power women in the early Christian church wielded.
Sorry. Gone off topic a bit.

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

You know it doesn't make much sense
There ought to be a law against
Anyone who takes offense
At a day in your celebration
Cause we all know in our minds
That there ought to be a time
That we can set aside
To show just how much we love youHappy birthday!!!!!!!🎉🎊🎁🍻🍹🍷

Update on Australian Royal Commission - Proposed Redress
by Pants of Righteousness inapologies if this has been posted previously, but this news item has appeared today regarding the proposed redress for abuse victims following the australian royal commission:.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-27/labor-pledges-payments-for-sex-abuse-survivors/6886864.
what's interesting is that in january it was proposed that the federal government contribute almost half of an estimated $4.3 billion redress scheme.

Only problem is, the witnesses will take that action as proof of "satan's people touching Jehovah's eyeball" and sit there waiting for the Big A to happen!
Good. Because it wont.

Goodwill stores: A gathering place for Jehovahs Witnesses.
by Joliette ini recently started working at a goodwill here in wisconsin, and i've never encountered more witnesses ever in my life.
every time i go to work, i see at least two or three people that i used to go to the kingdom hall with getting suits, dresses, etc.
some of them say hi, but some of them i just ignore, or they ignore me.

Reverend Edgar L. Helms of Morgan Methodist Chapel in Boston started
Goodwill as a mission of his ministry in 1902. Please don't tell them
they will have no where to shop.
In fact Do tell them, they need to have a lesson in real Christian charity.
I try to buy clothes and products from ethical companies and I think if witnesses are recycling more power to them - at least that's one posative thing they do!

Why Do You No Longer Believe in God?

The most basic philosophy course for starters
The bible is utter giberish
The cruelty of the natural world
All earth religons'have created god in mans' image and with his behaviours
evolution rules out the abrahamic religons
If there is a god he's entirely 'hands off' & would not be intetested in our worship or he would be an egotistical needy type which is not possible if he knows even half of what humanity knows

Paranoia after today's Watchtower
by Truthexplorer inboy oh boy did i feel paranoid at today's wt.
not only are we to watch our associations outside of the congregation, but also watch our associations 'within' the congregation.
this was emphasised by the wt study conductor.

Even in the Christian congregation there may be an environment or association that is spiritually not most helpful. Some who recently came out of the world and symbolized their dedication to God by water baptism may tend to bring into the congregation something that still clings to them—a measure of worldliness. Let us remember that it was to a Christian congregation that the apostle Paul wrote: “In my [previous] letter I wrote you to quit mixing in company with fornicators, . . . But now I am writing you to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.”—1 Cor. 5:9-11.
This is a damning extract indeed.
Firstly it cruelly & selfishly recommends keeping away from new recruits who may really need Christian love & guidance.
Secondly it proves that disfellowshiping is not scriptural as Paul does not talk about forcing the 'idolator, drunkard, fornicatie, greedy person ' etc out of the cong but rarther to stop socializing closely with such people, actually not even shunning them as JW 's practice (ignoring).
They were busy looking after “orphans and widows in their tribulation”
I've yet to find a JW as individuals or congs who follow the direction of James and the 1st century Christians here.

Meh, Paul was a bit whiny. "Woe is me in these chains for Christ!" No one wants to hear that all the time. Others were being fed to lions and whatnot. "Me, me, me, me." Besides, he genuinely belonged in chains; after all, he was a murderer.
Gotta remember he was a spoiled rich kid. Who he studied with wasn't cheap & is still revered in the Jewish community today. Also, he was a single Jewish male with Roman citizenship.
