  Lords Witnesses - JW splinter group - latest predictions

  amongst the many jw splinter groups , the "lords witnesses" are amongst the more interesting / amusing / depressing ( delete as applicable ).

  the de-facto leader , gordon ritchie , was quite a well known jw in the uk in the past.

  there was an amusing article in the times about him a few years ago ( https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-end-of-the-world-is-nigh-its-name-is-gordon-g3qxf8w5fn9 ) firewall / free to subscribe.

  sooner or later we're going to get a jw knocking on our door.

  just like when we were jw's doing the knocking, it's good to have a question prepared to get them thinking about their own beliefs.

  I'd say,

  Why is it in so many passages of the NT, when Jesus speaks he prefaces his words with:

  "Truly I say to you" or " Truly I tell you"

  So why is it when Jesus is on the stake talking to the criminal beside him he says,according to you:

  "Truly I say to you TODAY (comma)you will be with me in paradise".

  Why after so times using the expression 'truly I say to you' he suddenly adds the 'today'. Doesn't it seem more likely the comma comes BEFORE the today?

  if you take the red pill, you'll have knowledge, you'll be awakened, aware of reality, you'll have freedom.. if you take the blue pill, you stay in your bubble, wearing rose colored glasses, and feel security in an illusion.. taking the red pill isn't something that's easy to do.

  to accept that everything around you is an illusion built up on lies or half truths.

  but hey, it might feel good to be aware and break free from this illusion.

  TTATT The RED pill was needed especially because of my Kids, They are young and I HAD to get them out of the cult before their lives were ruined, at any cost.

  And the cost is high.

  I had to highlight this.

  Marie 33 that video broke my heart. The opera singer who gave up her career . The 87 year old who had ( prolly his last) chance to sing in a choir. So many talented musicians who won't get to perform again, as they should, in this one life.:'( :'( :'( :'(

  Always reality...always.

  But....I have a confession.

  I am a secret watcher of JW broadcast videos, and not just any old stuff.

  I love to watch the most emotional ones about the resurrection. The one of sergie playing violin in the field after death, of Jesus waking the dead girl-child, of the dead son reunited with his father in the 2016 convention video. Of the paradise video....The old couple as they stare at a cameo picture of a long dead daughter.

  And I bawl like a baby.

  I bawl for my grandparents whom I will never see young and vigorous. I bawl for the millions of dead children who never even made it to 5. Who were sent up the chimney, or to work in the "dark satanic mills" and whose bodies were thrown into a paupers grave.

  I cry for a lost dream that my modern, science loving skeptic cannot countenance .....A world ruled by an egotistical dictator.....but whom we tolerate to have our dead loved ones back.

  And the lives that our sense of justice demands from our cruel world... the unloved, unwashed, uncared for, unmourned masses in their unmarked graves.

  I can't help it, it's my dirty athiest secret.

  lots of contradictory and nutty comments - for instance stating one minute that 1914 proved such a faith strengthening event because it fulfilled all their predictions, how encouraged they were, and then a few minutes later claiming the opposite - that many were disappointed and shocked because their expectations were not met!.

  What does everyone think of how the video presents Rutherford and how he was "appointed" as president "by the brothers".

  Can anyone explain his shenanigans as I've never quite understood exactly what he did that was devious, in order to gain control of WTBTS.

  Also, what part did Russell wife Maria play in his writing ? I understood she was on the original board of directors.

  I'm really not the type to suck hole but seriously, after Ray Franz and JW.facts' Paul Grundy I would say that Simon - by running JWD - has done more to educate the world about Watchtower and help support exjw's than anyone else.

  If we gave out exjw Oscars or MBE's Simon would be dubbed a Commander of the Apostate Empire.

  As it could be considered " activism"( boy they love that word don't they?) Contributing For a first book, given the time it's requires and that it's adding to the pressure on the cult, OK.

  But I wouldn't contribute to a second as now you are just his employer without the perks of being one. I don't know other authors who are paid by random strangers, not their publisher, to write their books....go on booktours all over the world like some celebrity after selling 2000 books.

  I doubt people who have written far more worthy and seminal books have had the same level of support.

  He, and you, have done their bit for society, now it's just furthering his career.

  Thing is, this has brought reproach on jw's. Who would be interested, or even know, that some woman ( who given her attitude to the 'elder' was probably separated and inactive) was having relations with a man. { gasp!}
