One of the reasons they (cynically imho) took the opportunity, when they were creating another company, to call themselves "Christian Congregation of JW"

Cite one scripture in the N.T. that chargers Christians to be witnesses of / for Jehovah.....Not one.using K.I ./ WTB&TS
by smiddy3 ini think the wtb&ts publication titled "the kingdom interlinear of the christian greek scriptures" speaks for itself.. the word for word translation of the greek into english.. that publication does not even contain the name or word jehovah either in hebrew letters or greek letters anywhere in the word for word texts.. their is not one scripture in the n.t.
where christians ,followers of jesus christ are instructed to be witnesses of jehovah ,however there are something like twenty scriptures that explicitly state followers of jesus christ are to be witnesses of, for, and about jesus...

He's looks out for himself, not his country. Peace out, Mr. Flipper
Listen, I know next to nothing of the complexities of modern American politics.
But this fact is blindingly obvious to anyone with any understanding of human character traits, character flaws, behaviour, empathy and understanding.
This man cares nothing about the ordinary American person. The little people, the people who may be very intelligent but put family, community, creativity or integrity before riches and power. He esteems the elite of any nation before ma and pa American-just-getting-by.
That man just doesn't fuck with the little people.
Why WHY would you want such a person as your president?

Vidiotthe insistence that the WTS is "God's Exclusive Earthly Organization" becomes increasingly undermined.
And when that's eroded away...
...there's virtually zero incentive to stay.
Absolutely. Simple as that. Reporter law or not they will not report for that simple reason. The parents fear DF for bringing reproach, brazen conduct or whatever the current buzz words are now. The elders fear going against direction because they will loose their position.
Its just not a simple as going to Satan for help and ignoring gods direction for just this once

Snakes.....
I saw a programme once where some vets in the USA carry out charity work fixing up of sadly euthanising the terribly mangled victims of cats, mainly birds. Apparently millions of birds a year are killed by more and more especially feral cats.
My cat is an indoor cat on the advice of our local vet since we live near main roads. Your cat net thing sounds fantastic. We are lucky and have this kind of outdoor roof garden for our cat. Which is just as well since he’s a holy terror. A baby bird flew in to my bedroom window the other day and luckily landed on me briefly waking me up and I as able to wrestle the cat out of my room whilst my husband set the bird free. It was a damn close call and that bird was nearly a goner.
I love cats but boy they do some damage to wildlife especially in New Zealand and places they were not native to.
Zeb As to post convention blues, well I’d get sad in the past but it’s not very Christian to take it out on others imho. Is there no way of distracting her by going to some nice very unjw places such as museums etc?

Netflix “Explained: Cults”
by Butterfly607 inhas anyone else seen the netflix documentary “explained: cults”?
i thought it was well done.
i feel like a jw might watch it and feel uncomfortable as the show goes through the definition of cults and then the step by step indoctrination process.

Sex before marriage.
by nicolaou inmrs nic' and i were 16 and 18 years old respectively when we first met at a circuit assembly in corby.
three years later we were married.
we've had a great time, we're very lucky but looking back i can see how crazy it is to put that pressure to marry on teenagers.

I agree with road to nowhere it’s not even the sex per sa, it’s the inability to get to know a prospective mate intimately AT ALL, even in the sense of spending time being physically close - whatever that means to any particular couple. Never mind having shared interests or things to talk about, even. Since you’re only allowed to be interested in Watchtower.
its also incredibly damaging having to be a “narc” on your partner ie grassing them up for any perceived watchtower faux pas.

Self Limiting Beliefs
by abishephard inleft the jw’s as a teenager; as with most exjws i have struggled throughout the years with being a successful adult.
i have recently starting addressing some of the psychological trauma of my childhood, and i wonder if anyone else here can identify with any of these self limiting beliefs:.

That’s a very apt expression for so many of the behaviours I’ve exhibited over the years.
I am naturally a very curious and ambitious person, there was so much I wanted to achieve but I refused to become a “taker” as I saw it. Wealth was a dirty word to me, so I I chose nursing as a career, which I won’t say I didn’t enjoy, but I felt creatively and intellectually stifled. I don’t know how I would have gotten through seeing so much suffering if I hadn’t believed there was something better awaiting people.
Now I almost have a kind of ptsd about illness, suffering and death it’s almost a phobia. I’ve also gone from taking wild chances to being super risk averse.
Ironically I did always believe the world ( or Satan) was out to stumble me and I was suspicious of anything good that came my way....thinking there was a price attached! I now realise I self sabotage and that it wasnt the world but me creating stumbling blocks all along!
I do think that the wealth thing is partly generational, in my youth flashy displays of wealth were considered tasteless by everyone, not just witnesses!
