  Publisher ID - I Saw It In Person & It Was Terrifying!

  i'd like to start off this post by saying, we all know that the wt loves control.

  it's clear by their history, their wt's, the elder arrangement and so on.

  however, after witnessing and using the publish id program in person, it takes this need for control to a whole new level & it was scary.. if you've ever seen builder assist (the website program used for ldc volunteers) or the metro program, it actually looks pretty similar to that.

  Does it carry deceased publishers?

  If so, I'd love to know if Ted Jaracz is on there.

  Perhaps deceased publishers, or all publishers ever baptised, is the next level up. Although someone would have to scan the paper documents into the system.

  don't see how something like this is even legal without providing consent.

  I thought all publishers HAD to give consent. Didn't they all sign off on this in the UK recently?? Thought I read something about it.*

  *Edit: yes they did sign a disclaimer.

  Anyone who refused was told they wouldn't be able to apply for "privileges" or any other applications, though. Which basically rules out anyone who wants to auxiliary pioneer, "need greater" or help on a build etc

  Scholar I'd be interested to know your thoughts on Hebrews 2.9

  So we all know Watchtower does not consider Jesus to be God. So one would think they would take any and all opportunity to translate the Bible to reflect this dogma, as indeed they are want to do.

  However, it's pretty established that Hebrews 2.9 originally read "ASIDE from God" instead of "by the GRACE of God".

  Watchtower translates it as "by the undeserved kindness of God" which we all know is Watchtower code for "by the GRACE of God".

  This, to me, proves that the men who published the NWT were NO Bible *scholars.

  In that they resort to inserting words not originally in the text, a rather clumsy attempt to prove Jesus is not God, rather than researching and translating the *genuine* areas where the Bible is very ambiguous on the subject.

  having a team of people who have trained long and hard and dedicated their lives to helping save lives

  To be fair they are being paid bloody good money to do this AND get the acclaim, regard and power that has always come with the job.

  Of course folks like St. John’s ambulance most definitely do what they do from altruistic motives.

  California Fires-Contact from elders

  the fires have been hitting many areas of los angeles lately.

  recently, i checked my home voicemail and noticed messages from several elders.

  they were calling everyone on their “books” to ensure that they were ok.. i assume this is the protocol for a natural disaster.

  JP 1692 My wife and I spent the entire day Tuesday in our house waiting to see if we had to evacuate. We didn't, but we were ready with our car loaded with clothes, a "go bag" and other essentials just in case.

  i've never been that big on video/computer games but i used to have a ps2 and my absolute fav game was star wars battlefront ii, released by pandemic in 2005.. you could choose to play as three different classes of soldier and fight for the rebels, the imperials, the republic or the battle droids.

  as you played and gained points by killing the enemy, you could unlock a fourth and fifth class of soldier.

  you could also play as a hero or villain - such as darth vader, luke skywalker, princess leia, etc.. there was something absolutely awesome playing as darth vader and cutting down or force-choking rebel soldiers on the tantive iv.. .

  Oh boy one of my sons was on the new one until 2 am last night he waiting for his brother to let him download it all day so...!!! ( they get two weeks off in autumn term)

  Ok now I'm going to show my age.

  The best game I ever owned was PONG. I had the original and I didn't know any other kids who owned it. I thought it was the most amazing thing ever ;)(my kids would say I am "Flexing" lol)

  I got into Sega sonic when they came out. I'd get home from work and couldn't wait to have a go.

  My favourite game now is Assasins creed Black Flag. And Telltales "The walking Dead"

  the usa has put witnesses in jail in the past.

  other countries look at jws as a nuisance.. do you think the witnesses are a threat to governments?

  No. They are only perceived as subversive to dictators.

  Anywhere folks have the right not to join the military or vote, in other words a democracy with reasonable rights and responsibilities, they are only a threat to the family unit.

  e: "their coming to know you: Or “their taking in knowledge of you; their continuing to know you.” The Greek verb gi·noʹsko basically means “to know,” and here the verb is used in the present tense to express continuous action. It may denote a process of “taking in knowledge about someone; getting to know someone; becoming better acquainted with someone.” It may also include the thought of making an ongoing effort to get better acquainted with someone who is already known. In this context, it refers to a deepening personal relationship with God brought about by ever-increasing knowledge of God and Christ and a growing trust in them. Clearly, this necessitates more than knowing who a person is or knowing his name. It would also involve knowing what that person likes and dislikes and knowing his values and standards. —1Jo 2:3;4:8.

  Learning ABOUT someone (taking in knowledge of) and knowing or getting to know someone are completely different things.

  although i never knew him, his brother was my roommate for a time at watchtower farms.

  Russian raid on 50 Jehovahs witnesses

  there has been a raid on a large jehovahs witness gathering in norilsk, above the arctic circle, according to the moscow times.. a building with 50 jws inside was surrounded by masked, armed special forces forces who burst into the building and demanded they surrender all electronic devices.. i'll link the article but it's obviously going to drive these witnesses deeper into the religion.

  Apparently they are pushing for one JW to get over 7 years in prison.

  I mean this is exactly what Watchtower needs to up the levels of F.O.G.

  One dictatorship riding roughshod over the human rights of the victims of another dictatorship.

  And the poor sheep in the middle getting shorn by both sides.
