I went mudlarking with my kids and their London school. Fantastic!
You need permits to dig below a certain level, too.
I have heard of these amazing German youngsters who were executed by the Nazis.
there wasn't a place to really peg this so i just picked this area to post.. one of the interests i have is fossils and finding things in the ground.
i stumbled onto a lady that does mudlarking in england.
it's amazing what is found by the river - some very old coins, bottles, pottery, smoking pipes etc.

the “average publisher” figure for individual countries has made a comeback!
Drop off your key lee have a family member living in an African nation, and their description is very different. A lot of it has to do with the abject poverty people are in, and they think that becoming JWs will make them rich, or at least more financially secure. The ones that get to Bethel there and get their monthly $100 allotment or whatever it is and a free place to live with healthcare think they have really hit it big. They even send money home to their family in the bush. Its a different world.
I agree. I don’t have personal experience here but my feeling is they like the connection to an American religion, they also see Jehovah’s witnesses in these really poor areas living a relatively stable life and being as comfortable as is possible. This is because JWs don’t tend to gamble, drink to excess, get into fights or spend money on destructive relationships. They will also help each other out in terms of providing employment for each other first, before they will employ “worldly” people. Of course we know it’s an illusion but to the “underclass”(horrible term) they do portray a sort of safety in an otherwise dangerous world.
edit yes Asp59 another reason for growth; as you say many will hope to bag a western mate through becoming a witness. Many are already Christian so it’s not too much of a hardship to get baptised j-dub.
i have started this, then restarted it, and it still sucks to even write this out - but my younger sister passed away unexpectedly last saturday (on my birthday).
i am going through all the grieving emotions, but there is more to the story that i could never and would never talk about to anyone that didn't understand the jw rhetoric.
so...here i am.. my sister has had borderline personality disorder (bpd) for as long as i can remember.
Can I just say I am related to someone ( nephew in-law) who has BPD and Ive been in clinics with people diagnosed with it so I DO know what it’s like to be around them but I can’t imagine the hell you must feel being the one they’re obsessed with. I know that fear, though, since my hubby has been that person. I absolutely feel for you.
I think perhaps you need to try and be there for your poor niece who is the one who is going to really suffer in all this. It’s seems that poor little girl as used as a pawn.
Your sister had a very real and very debilitating illness....apart from schizophrenia perhaps the MOST debilitating. Your parents took advantage of that fact and I’m afraid it’s they that have done the most damage to you.
is there any chance you and your husband would be willing to fight for that little girl?
PS I’m very sorry such a very young lady and mother has lost her life :(
edit: raising that child away from the cult would be the ultimate fitting tribute to the woman YOUR SISTER SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Even if you fought for access it would be worth it. Perhaps you will fill that gaping hole with the relationship with your sisters child ❤️❤️
i'm not really sure where to put this post or "thread", so i'll just put it in the physical activities area.
i just want to know if anyone on the forum has any experience with having a hip replacement surgery done on them, or perhaps a friend or relative.
what was your experience, if it was you?
and then danced the twist at wedding too. (carefully)NB Waton you’re a very bad Jehovah’s Witness Don’t you remember that Watchtower telling us “The Twist” was derived from an ancient fertility ritual and to be undertaken at your own peril!!!

A great, now routine operation. they now send you home the same day. was off painkiller after a week, and then danced the twist at wedding too. (carefully)
Lovely to hear Waton!❤️ I remember my lovely Nanna having it done many years ago and she was in hospital for 6 weeks!!! Mind you it was very successful and she was doing gentle ballet exercises not long after!
probably not new to many of you but i'm gonna post it anyway!.
i went to a circuit assembly last week at the fremont, ca assembly hall in fremont, ca to be with my wife so she could be there to 'witness' the baptism of a person she "studied" with about 2 decades ago!.
at the main entry to the assembly hall there are 3 or 4 large double door entrances.
Theh cover it during sessions so if yoy dont remember to use if at break too bad
But it’s still there....
JWs are like Like toddlers covering their eyes and thinking you can’t see them

Surprised New Zealand shows an increase but I’d be willing to bet these are mostly Islanders from Polynesian Islands.
I imagine these people are single handedly responsible for getting Geoffrey Jackson his gig on the Governing Body. He probably made so many easy converts among them it was mistaken for Jehovah blessing him, rather than the result of an obsessive turn toward western religion by a people divorced from their culture by colonisation.
from an african perspective.

Interesting. Thank you Lost.
i was listening to a podcast on cost to build a hall and there was a brother from the stage saying it costs the cult half a million to build a hall.
lol its bs.
there is no fing way that it cost the cult a half million to build a hall.
I’m only an ignorant’ female medic begin’ yer pardon, but isn’t the point that whatever the cost of a Kingdom Hall, the ones they are currently selling were built using donated money? And any future Kingdom Halls are being paid for with a watchtower (we forgive your loan) “mortgage” in PERPETUITY by the congregations???
