  Less than 3000 New JWs in the USA!!!

  No wonder they are pushing child baptisms! People must be leaving in droves in the USA. Without the youngsters they would definitely be in negative growth.

  I mean just from empirical evidence and being very generous with numbers we’ve seen at the very least HALF of all US baptisms are kids under 21. If you took them away I can only imagine how poor the figures would be.

  this is to say a huge big thank you,tons of appreciation and gratitude from me for simon for toiling away on his own dime for 20 years or so and keeping this site up and running .

  surely this site has helped tons of jdumbs n exjdumbs in their search for ttatt and freedom.

  I actually think he’s pooped out but he keeps going out of loyalty and love for us.

  Though he’d probably never admit it.

  The sky is falling- maybe

  i am actually not a 'sky is falling' guy, but i wanted to comment on the australian bushfires.. you may or may not believe the science behind global warming, however i personally put more faith in verified, scientific data than the words of fat cat, self-serving politicians.

  climate science has predicted, based on data, that we will see more prolonged, extreme weather events, higher average temperatures, rising sea levels due to ocean expansion and glacial melting.

  and this is exactly whats happening.

  I have young kids and younger nieces and nephews. I am deeply worried about the sort of world we are handing over to them. If they live as long as my grandparents did, Armageddon will be the least of their worries.

  Thinking of all Australians, including our relatives, at this terrible time.

  I’m sure ordinary Iranians are glad to be rid of him. Certainly the expat Iranian community in the UK are glad.

  However I genuinely am frightened for ordinary American soldiers or, more likely, reporters and charity workers.

  They will attack a soft target....cowards.

  Double Standards of the Watchtower

  are you aware of any double standards promoted by the organization of jehovah's witnesses?

  here a a few i am aware of:.

  1. the wts equated joining the ymca with apostasy but felt free to join the un for 10 years (1991-2001).

  Jehovahs Witnesses will absolutely not donate blood.

  Yet they will accept blood products, and vaccinations or interferons which may have been made utilizing blood products.

  The map I saw of the fires was absolutely mental!!!!

  To coin a phrase, Australia is literally “Lit”🤨 The fires are surrounding the whole perimeter of the country by the looks😳. Is it connected with global warming?

  If Christendom’s followers commit a sin, like child abuse, it’s because “it’s Satans church“.

  If Jehovah’s witnesses do the same, either it’s because they are “imperfect men” or because “they are not really true Jehovah’s witnesses“.

  Does that mean paedophile priest’s are not really true Catholics or just “imperfect men”?

  Rec'd a letter from my Dad - need some advice...

  fader here - last meeting was in autumn 2005. lurker on this site and others.

  not one to get all controversial.. typical situation, pretty much a born in and left the church at age 38 and never looked back.. i'm 53 now, parents getting older - late 70s but very active, dad is still an elder.. parents, in laws, brother and brother-in-law still uber active jws.. my family (wife and 2 adult children) out since 2005.. we have stayed close to our parents - we have treaded religion lightly and have had a pretty good relationship and have kept our personal lives and beliefs/opinions separated from them.

  this was intentional - as we love them and do not want anything to cause shunning since they are getting older and want to be there for them and we respect their beliefs.. got this letter today.

  The typical JW uber letter. It's all about them, not you. You have left US and you have hurt US.

  It seems to me either your mum or dad have let slip something to someone, or someone has thrown them under the bus for some reason over you.....and someone has stated something about the kids having girlfriends/boyfriends or seeing Xmas lights etc. In other words they have definitely come under outside pressure.

  May I ask does your brother/in law shun you?

  I cut out the quote above because as it seems your parents are sensitive, kindly types perhaps saying that to them may make them think....”it’s all about YOU, how YOU Feel/hurt typical Jehovah’s Witness. Prepared to sacrifice the world as long as you’re ok”.its all on their terms, if THEY have necessary family business they will call, if YOU DO ha!! Fat chance you’d hear from them (for most j-dubs, I don’t say in your specific case, there are exceptions I know}

  Harsh? Yes. Surely. Ask your dad if it’s more important he’s an elder or your father. Sorry I don’t think you should ignore them. That’s just what watchtower wants.
