Degree of Effectiveness of JW Letter Writing Form of Witnessing

a newspaper article quotes a jw as saying "every (letter) i put in the mailbox, i feel, 'ah, this could reach somebody.

'" the article also quotes her as saying "we are accomplishing even more now than we were door-to-door because this way everybody in the house gets a chance to pick up that letter and respond to it.

it just feels good.

NB I actually fell for the letter as I opened it! I mean for a minute I was all happy to receive a kind letter from a "new" neighbour!(he wrote he'd recently moved to the neighbourhood. Is that standard??)

* Yes and I know this because I recently received THREE copies of EXACTLY THE SAME letter, handwritten mind you, addressed to "neighbour" at my address.

Why not just print out copies since the wording is exactly the same? The person had obviously lost track of which addresses they had already written to because they arrived one after the other!! Anyway it's definitely about killing time so as to report more hours, not about getting that message out asap.

I do find it incredible that people don't see the overlapping generation rubbish as a desperate attempt to patch up a sinking ship.

Although when I hear about people like Cook, who only suddenly became 'anointed' when he was called to bethel as a helper, soooo cynical. So I've no doubt for some of them it's just a career.

Yes 😂😂😂My kids and husband are constantly dumbfounded by my credulousness (if there's such a word). My default position is to immediately believe anything I'm told, although to be fair I'm more gullable when it's in person. I'm not quite so bad when reading an article, for example. Historically I was much worse in that regard too, at least according to my husband.

Jeff T Mickbobcat isn't just talking about the copyright thing.

By the way, at the risk of being a bore 🙄,their work is shared freely (because they're a cult and they're fishing for recruits) so they loose nothing by someone else (also not benefiting) from posting their work mainly to be criticized. So yes, in this instance Vienne's daughter is being a troll.

the sunday speaker was one of those very smooth younger ones with the "look".

store bought haircut and a very pretty wife ( the kind that makeup isn't needed, side point).. i tongue tied a comment to my wife about maybe he was a bethelite who was reassigned and said bethelout by mistake.

That video of the Komodo dragons had me wondering? Who was doing the videoing of that incident, and how did they get so close without being attacked also? Just wondering about that.

Hey Titch I don't know about that particular video, but I have seen some cameramen having to scarper pretty sharpish when filming near some Komodo dragons one time!!! Even though they appear to move slowly! (I expect, tho', because they bite then come back or track the victim until the poison takes effect, they are more focused on their victim than some skinny cameraman).

Yes. By my own mother. All my life.

I was a straight A student. Top of my year. Used to tippex out my name when they put up the results of our yearly Exams & SATS etc (embarrassed)🙄. Loved school & never missed a day in my life, but because she wanted to force my dad to sell the family home (she left us with dad when I was 8 and my brother was 4) she told SS I didn't go to school So that they would put us in care (Dad had had a breakdown you see but she didn't want us herself, just the house). I always got myself & my brother off to school without fail our whole childhood (Dad's a drinker you see).The only thing I ever did wrong as a kid was break a window once when I was locked out.

Yet she made me think I was evil and it's taken me until middle age and I had kids of my own to realise what she did to me.

Sorry for the rant ....good to get it off my chest, actually.
