  had lunch with a friend, whose a lecturer in the accounting dept.

  of one of australia's best universities.

  he told me he expects to lose his job at some point in the next 5 years, as the accounting dept, will disappear, as all accounting will be done by ai programs, so why teach it.. if his fears are correct, that means that any profession that involves the mind, may one day face the same future.

  I'm also very pessimistic Slim. I haven't watched any of your posted videos (but I intend to!)

  However my view is that, at best, AI will prioritise life on Earth over humanity. Viewing us as a threat to other forms of life and not worthy of our position as guardians.

  Only baptised JWs will make it?

  i think it was a john cedars video or someone else’s where the point was brought up that only baptised jws will be saved?

  then one talk about kids of baptised jws hope they will make it but even them don’t know.

  most jws probably think that some good people who are not baptised may make it through, but this is not official teaching?.

  This quote is fudging the point. It's basically saying that of those alive today only the ones who become witnesses have the possibility of being saved.

  It asks the question "Will only Jehovahs Witnesses be saved?"

  "No. Many millions who lived in centuries past and who weren’t Jehovah’s Witnesses will have an opportunity for salvation. The Bible explains that in God’s promised new world, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) Additionally, many now living may yet begin to serve God, and they too will gain salvation. In any case, it’s not our job to judge who will or won’t be saved. That assignment rests squarely in Jesus’ hands.—John 5:22, 27.

  Most Witnesses have enough cognitive dissonance to believe a proportion of good people who were never exposed to the truth will be saved.

  They can't face the fact Watchtower has always maintained, with the exception of very young kids of baptised witnesses, only those baptised have the possibility of being saved. Most Witnesses will say even baptism is no guarantee. But of course that's not addressing the real question!

  I'm sure a search of old publications will bring up plenty of quotes - try Avoidjw.org - and yes Antony Morris repeated that idea in a recent video.

  I watched it.

  I did notice he spends more time 'liking' and replying to viewers, so....maybe this 'knock' to his ego has made him bloody well appreciate his subscribers a bit more!!!

  Slim Small clip I saw he was blathering on how he doesn’t like to cover this topic because of the harrowing stories. I can think of another reason he doesn’t like to cover the topic.

  Yup. I'm guessing he's not too keen on the fact he can't personally manage the live chat at the same time....he may have another "Alien Encounter"😂😂😂

  I appreciate there's probably a small time delay and moderators - but Mashee Moto and Arthur are too dense to catch every post & there's little they could do with a livestream 'flash mob' of protesters if people decided to put a stop to his livestreaming & profiting from CSA reports!

  my grandfather who has been dead for 37 years would not recognise the borganisation today.

  he would turn in his grave if he knew the end didn’t come by 2023.. back in the 1970s he really believed in the 75 thing.

  he was so disappointed and almost blamed everyone else why the end didn’t come.

  bart erhman states, in this you tube short presumably taken from the video series he has been doing with megan lewis*, that jesus said the god of the ot, the god of jeremiah, is not the (same)god as jesus.

  bart continues "jeremiah's god killed (the children) - jesus said let the children come to me.

  jesus' god said turn the other cheek" - the ot god was war-like etc (paraphrasing bart here a bit).. it's always been the thing that stopped my fully embracing the bible after leaving watchtower.

  SBF The best book by Bart Ehrman is probably one of the least read: The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture

  Thanks, Slim, I'll check it out as I've not heard of it much less read it. I've read a few of his best known books. I tended to lean towards Carriers view but the more I learn the more I appreciate the historicist scholars deep knowledge. Carrier tends to look at things as a mathematician would - or rather with a mathematical methodology perhaps??
