Fernando I have a friend who did talk about Grace with me, and I'll be honest...I didn't understand, I really didn't 'get' it. I didn't know the witnesses translated it as " loving- kindness"...That came years later. It took an awful lot of research, (and other things that convinced me they didn't have 'the truth')before I finally understood the concept. So even if they had posed that simple question, would we have understood?

If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.
i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.
.....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

Chook Out comes the white rabbit out of Toni Morris pants LOL 😂😂
I knew a couple of old dears back in the 70s 80s that used the King James at the Kingdom Hall, baptised so long ago who knew if their was a NWT back then.
Menrov I too liked the Good News - I was given it at a kids summer hols thing run in our local park. It was run by some Evangelicals, games, food , fun for bored kids in the hols in the UK ( we didn't have summer camps like the USA). It was the most fun I ever had in my childhood. I thought I was in heaven. Parents didn't know, just thought I was in the park playing.

Ahhh....Remember to "wet the baby's head" for me! That's an old tradition you might approve of! It involves those old enough to imbibe to drink a toast ( or three) to the future health of the baby. Enjoy the day...as Astronomer Royal Martin Rees says about church " I do it for the tribe". It's a lovely welcome to a New life, I always think what will this little one see that I could never have dreamed of.
Rebelfighter I love to attend church purely to listen to the choir at Kings College.

Serious question..Leviticus 20:15 Why slay the beast???
by James Mixon init's not as if the sheep was trying to seduce the shepherd, the poor creature was violated.
we have come a long way from those days, thank goodness.
so why slay the sheep or beast?????

Smiddy good point.
If Adam hadn't been so fussy....with that in mind....
I had a friend who used to say that it would be so much more exciting if you didn't know what you were going to give birth to... "Oh look, I've had a monkey" or " ahhh, it's a baby kangaroo". She actually didn't want kids but was desperate for a pet penguin.
Just sayin'....😋

Been witnessing today - first time in over 2 years!!
by The Searcher inand it felt wonderful!!.
i went into the city to where i knew there was a "cosmopolitan witnessing" trolley, because i wanted to ask a simple bible-based question.
the trolley was attended by an elder and a sister who was another elder's wife.

Well you've opened my eyes, that's extremely interesting. And the poster underneath Bobcat who explained it some more ( Merism) I hadn't thought about the worthlessness of the poor great crowd whose good works now count for nothing. Maybe tested unto death here only to be tested again in WT's paradise. ....how unfair when the GoBod gets a cosy life at Warwick and gets a pass straight up to heaven. Yuk.
Good witnessing, and as they say " baby steps...". Who are we to say how these people really think, there has to have been a last day we all went in service for the Watchtower Corp., be it last week or 40 years ago.

Can Someone Explain To Me, Are The Org In Debt Or Rich?
by pale.emperor inhi guys.. im aware of the orgs blatant hints to donate, donate, donate to the org, the sacking of bethel staff, selling of buildings, reducing mags and books, emphasis on digital rather than physical books etc which is obviously a money saver - but are the wt org in money difficulty?
because elsewhere on here and on youtube there's stories of the watchtower being mega rich, one even called it "a billion dollar organization".
and if there is any money in there, who's benefiting off it?
-

Orphan Crow I think you've cracked it. This "disbursement quota" has to be the reason they are hassling for donations. I'd put money on UK / Aus /NZ and US law having a similar quota...it would explain why the drive for donations is worldwide as the "qualified donee" they are spending so much on Warwick.
Do I understand this correctly?

Anybody else notice this graphic in the meeting videos?
by stillin inin the videos where a scripture is cited and they show the written verse.
after the verse is read, the graphics shows the cover of the book closing on the verse as though seen from the edge of the book.
then the closed book flips up onto its' end and identifies the source of the verse as (drumroll, please) jw.org!

There's a jworg video ( I think 2015) where one of the shepherds to whom the angels announced Jesus birth, becomes the narrator for the whole two part video - essentially the story of Jesus life and ministry. In it he talks about his doubts that Jesus is the messiah, despite seeing the angels with his own eyes as a young Shephard boy. On two occasions he talks about how you can know the truth or whether Christianity is the true faith. The first time he talks about how he knew Jesus is the Christ...the truth. The second time he talks about how he can know Jehovahs Witnesses are the truth.
Just like you bible quote example they sneakily slip it in as though a first century shepjhard would know what Jehovahs Witnesses are, let alone that they are the one true faith. Subliminal messages.
