Does it exist and if so where could I get a copy? I am in touch with a young, particularly uninformed Portuguese sister who has been talking to my bi-lingual neighbour. I have been telling her about some of the organisation's history, of which she is absolutely clueless, and she is open to reading this book....I mean that's how little she knows about her religions own edicts. I feel like it's really a family thing for her, and, of course 'the paradise' as they now call it. Any other Portuguese resources much appreciated too.

Former Elder insights on recent Child Abuse Cases & changes in the Org
by cha ching inthis former elder, was briefly featured on pbs segment about child abuse among jehovah's witnesses.
in this youtube interview, he is asked about some of his experiences in the org from 1971 to the present.. at about 16:10 he starts telling his story about his involvement with trey bundy, and how he got to know jonathan kendrick, from the candace conti case.. for some reason, this video is starting 15 minutes in, and i can't get the link to start at zero.... you can always rewind ;-).

I love this YouTuber! Apparently he used to be a member here. I love his interview style he really feels for the subject, listens and let's his interviewee speak without interupption, very professional.
Isn't is interesting that the lawyers are in the weekly so-called 'spiritual'neetings of the GovBod?!!
Also horrible that they didn't DF for some regular, run of the mill sin but " speaking abusively of the glorious ones" glorious ones *supposedly* being elders LoL but really we all know it's the leaders at Watchtower HQ
He also mentions st. Stephen as he is known to many religions. A figure I have a complex relationship with. He used to be my hero in a way, I still cry if I see anything featuring him - film/video/bible reading etc Its so sad he WAS incredibly truthful and ethical BUT,and here's the rub, are not the jihadi Muslims just like Stephen, faithful unto death? WAS Stephen actually a fanatic, in truth?
Anyway, maybe a subject for another post but this elder WAS truthful, honest and ethical unto Watchtower death and I have enormous respect for him.
Thanks for posting!!

"special" anti cart campaign!!
by nowwhat? ingo up to cart witnesses and ask what their organization is doing to aid hurricane victims.
and when they say they look to gods kingdom for the solution.
say your solution is for god kill 99.9 % of humans!

The very premise of witnesses is flawed.
Rather than being upset if people are killed, they should be happy for them, as they are now guaranteed a resurrection free pass into the new world right?
Stuckinarut if you ask a hard core dub what they really think, this is exACTly what they will say. Its awful and upsetting really, but this is the corollary of their belief system.
No what? Good point!! I'll say that if I get a chance.

It was a scam by the priests that wrote it 2000 odd years ago...give us money for doing nothing
It's a scam today...give us money for doing nothing that contributes to society.

Amazing new graph - publisher increase compared to country population increase rates
by jwfacts inworld population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.
watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.
what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.

WiFi To illustrate: If every country in the world had exactly 100,000 people in it, How many publishers would they have added/lost? This many. Most countries are stagnant
Oooo wifi that is extremely telling, and is surely very a very depressing projection for the GovBod. Hence the scramble for money to ensure the survival of the org in the coming years.
But what's up with Greenland? LoL!!

Those who DO NOT get a resurrection?
by stuckinarut2 inso we know that by jw logic, the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin and will get a resurrection in the "new world".
however, those directly destroyed by god, or at his command will not.
(for example, those destroyed in the flood.

Diogenesister
Well we didn't mention, specifically, all the babies, children and minors in the flood.
The same during Armageddon "it's their parents fault, they should have answered the door on Saturday" doesn't cut the mustard.
The children of the infamous Watchtower favourite KORAH!!

Carl Johanssan "don't know Arkkadian"
Like
Fred Franz " don't know Hebrew or Koine Greek"
This illiterate guy is obviously a JW troll.
Johanssan's book is about as thoroughly researched work as you could find. It's a "must read" for all exjw's and I for one thoroughly recommend it. After 3 decades of research Johanssen's lines of proof do rest mainly on the cuneiform tablets, which it is true he cannot read however the book is prefaced with a quote from Professor Cagni of the University of Naples, a professor of Assyriology who states that he was "overcome with feelings of deep admiration and a deep satisfaction with the way the author has dealt with the subject". He is not the only academic similarly impressed and you must realise Carl spent much time corresponding with experts in the fields he covers in his book.
It's a classic. Read it if you get the opportunity.

Just need to vent a little
by Phoebe inin the last week i have had three visits from brothers.

I'm guessing you are a single woman, or married to a non-believer. Watchtower has single women to burn...that's why they couldn't care a less.
Its probably taken them this long to notice you gone, or rarther your service time gone...I think 6 months of no service time and your considered inactive.
Maybe the weather isn't too good ( too hot or too cold) so they needed to get their time in indoors - and thought you'd at least invite them in.
If I were you, that is if you have no JW relatives you are concerned about, I would tell them just how cold, cruel and unChristian they have been toward you.
This post is truly upseting and I am so very very sorry you have been treated so shabbily. I hope you find friends and happiness in your cult free life.
Meet up.org is a good place to find New friends, as is volunteering. I wish you ALL the very best.💓

why jw's commit suicide?
by notalone inwe all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.
my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.
i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.

James Beckford shares a similar view to mine that Jehovah's witnesses would not have allowed schizophrenics to remain in the organisation.
Guys I appreciate that this is just one persons experience, but in my old congregation there was a baptised sister who couldn't give coherent answers, there was obviously some serious issues. She seemed to me to suffer with paranoia, too. The attitude of other Jw's was that 'jehovah had obviously seen something in her heart' and drawn her to the society.
I realize that not all congs would be so accepting. She was included in all service arrangements and invited to all the main 'get togethers'. I'm not sure what happened to her as I was only a teen at the time.
