Phiz & NottyThey could get around the liability issue like schools do now....that you bring your own nibbles in, in order to congregate (and then everyone shares anyway ๐)

The TWO new things to come this year for J.W Org !
by Phizzy inwhile having my first strong black coffee of the day, i was thinking about what may be to come next as the org.

Maybe not in an appointed position "of power" at the time the incidents that have enough evidence to be taken to court took place, but you can bet your bottom dollar they started when he was an elder. Probably deleted him when complaints started piling up....
How sickening they get called homosexual rather than seen as victims. As Blues said it's all so sickeningly familiar.

If the org. Is being advised by consultants, is a name change in the works?
by nowwhat? inlet's be honest, there's a stigma to the name jehovah's witness.
if they are going more mainstream.
i imagine the first recommendation was a name change.

Stan Why did the org pay an outside consultancy (if true ) to show them where they have gone wrong ?.
we could have shown them-for free.
๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ปThey could have "roll up roll up and read all about it" right on here! -

Vidiot With what? Pensions and duct tape?
I tend to think the older ones who donated the bulk of the wealth Watchtower invested - and now lives off of the interest from - (mostly converts) have now passed away.
The boomer generation - born in elders & pioneers that dedicated their whole lives to the cause, failing to prepare for old age have very little to donate to the org. Believing the end would come they're barely scraping by themselves.

I've never understood the tattoo ban (at least in discreet areas)because it's not forbidden in the NT. If they were done prior to baptism it's acceptable, so it seems a bit unfair. Also they're always banging on about dress & grooming standards being acceptable within a person's local culture etc. I would have thought earrings and nose rings definitely fall within some cultural norms, India say?
I mean all the boys where I used to work wore earrings....and moustaches ...plaid shirts....501's....cowboy hats! (So many career choices in Soho๐ค lumberjacks, cowboys, sailors, mechanics! ๐๐๐)

What I Remember From The Past...
by titch infolks: regarding all the recent changes about dis-fellowshipping and time for re-instatement.
(and, even speaking to persons who are dis-fellowshpped.
) back in 1972, a new book was released at the summer district convention, that replaced the yellow-colored "lamp": book.

Scenic viewer I remember a Circuit Overseer asking that exact question in one of his talks, but his answer was different. What did he say? 'Someone else will be along to help that person.'
Oh brother! How can a so-called Christian not see the resemblance of his words to the behaviour of the priest and Levite in Jesus' parable of "the good Samaritan"??
I do remember the era of families being allowed to talk to DF relatives...only no spiritual association. That was the mid 70s. Then the rule about DA ones being enforced. I knew there was an 'apostate at Bethel' and learned the truth about Ray in the mid 2000s.

The Memorial and my thoughts.
by Truth and Justice inno matter what opinions you may have, the memorial is very important to us.
many are opposed to the way the organization performs the memorial because of restrictive rules as to who should partake.
as jesus said in scripture, "keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

Thanksgiving
Surely that's a national celebration? I doubt they'd allow that. They'd have to allow many other national celebrations, such as Bastille day and May 1st etc
Independence day? Billions celebrate independence from England in one form or another. 1.6 to be precise.
