PeteBeautiful places, thanks for sharing. Most of our photos are printed. I've tried pasting them in the box but doesn't work.
Pete take a photo of the photo? We'd love to see them!

SlimThis is Bruges last year. Going again soon. It’s once of my favourite places
Mmmmm I understand it has some of the best restaurants and reasonably priced for what they are.
Boy would love to visit (went as a kid).
elders have a rulebook.
do cos and their superiors have a similar written set of guidelines setting out everything they're supposed to be on top of?.
what prompted the question was a statement by jehovax that there is a new elders manual coming out due to the new changes.
TOHThey all sound alike, though. Hung up on vaccines and 'JW Lite.'
😂😂
I'm guessing they use VPN's? Would a mod know if they were using one?
i found this while googling.
i thought elders and/or high rankers don't get paid.
is there something i don't know?
Surely that is just their earnings from their secular job?
If correct, these are surely earnings Watchtower professionals earn. Lawyers, doctors, IT specialists, accountants etc etc. As someone mentioned many of them have famillies and couldn't possibly support them on the Bethelites stipend.
I believe these are the people at the top who really keep watchtower in business - ones for whom Watchtower's continued success as a business is really in their interest.
The figures sound right for them, no?
Another example are the JWs who run businesses/are contractors, with the organisation as their main customer. They won't be listed but will lobby on behalf of the org when required. They're not interested if "The STruth"©NF 2024 is the truth or not.
regarding the poster from jw headquarters, who claimed that the gb would eventually loosen the rules regarding sex.
the question is, is there really a bible rule explicitly prohibiting sex without marriage?
because this would be the only possible reason why loosening those rules would even come up in a discussion.
Ancient rules around sex essentially evolved to protect human offspring, whether in patriarchal or (the admittedly few) matriarchal societies. Because human children require extended periods of devoted care in order to thrive. Both mother and child are vulnerable during this period, both from predation (animal & human) and from lack of resources. Since the mother has to spend so much time caring/nursing the infant it is difficult for her to meet her own nutritional needs without help. Example: most mammal babies can walk soon or even immediately after birth. Human babies can take up to two years to do so.
This is why our family structures developed - with marriage at its centre. Even in modern times, with social welfare protections in place, a male who deserts his offspring faces censure by the community.
it is useless for you to contact me, i already know that according to the new update of the governing body, you can contact me.. but the problem is... you can only invite me to meetings, and at most say "hello" once i'm there.. i already know.. so, if you really want to know how i'm doing, even if it's irrelevant for the purposes of this contact, i'll tell you.. i am not well.
i'm depressed and full of psychotropic drugs.
of course, being isolated from everyone i knew and loved didn't help.. here's how i am.. and for a thousand reasons, there is no question of becoming an "associate" in the congregation again.. ergo, it's useless.. there's no point in contacting me, because that's the only goal.. it's not out of a rush of love.
What a heart rending letter.
I feel for you. So many of us can relate. It seems to be the thing that exjws who have moved on and up after leaving. Who have left young, healthy, full of ambition and thrived out in the world, are interviewed publicly everywhere.
Not so much those of us whose pain is such that we haven't. That's not so say our success stories don't feel pain because every damn one of us does and then some😡
You have my sincere best wishes and empathy for what you're going through.
while having my first strong black coffee of the day, i was thinking about what may be to come next as the org.
rapidly goes mainstream, and this is what i came up with :.
1) they will introduce for sunday, the after meeting fellowship, a time for just chatting but with the added bonus of coffee and snacks.
Phiz & NottyThey could get around the liability issue like schools do now....that you bring your own nibbles in, in order to congregate (and then everyone shares anyway 😂)

Maybe not in an appointed position "of power" at the time the incidents that have enough evidence to be taken to court took place, but you can bet your bottom dollar they started when he was an elder. Probably deleted him when complaints started piling up....
How sickening they get called homosexual rather than seen as victims. As Blues said it's all so sickeningly familiar.
let's be honest, there's a stigma to the name jehovah's witness.
if they are going more mainstream.
i imagine the first recommendation was a name change.
Stan Why did the org pay an outside consultancy (if true ) to show them where they have gone wrong ?.
we could have shown them-for free.
